Thoughts.....

* Nice to see D1 finally get interesting, really keeping an eye on the St. Ed's upset over Mentor. A lot riding on the weather, Mentor runs one of the most complex offenses in the country.

* Love, love, love the D2 playoffs and regions 5 and 6 are most see

* Would love to see Trotwood and Bishop Hartley run into each other again soon

* Wyoming and Perry seem on a collision course but I would have 0 issues seeing Clyde continue their 8 seed run, they have a shot to continue against Ottawa Glandorf

* Powerhouses abound here, the Orrville and Oak Harbor game is the best of the lot but between them, Ironton, Kirtland.......this is the safest bet for most fun states coming

* Can Carey keep their 8 seed going against East Knox? I'm doubting it. New Middleton vs Mogadore? That's hawt. Anna & Archbold better be a sold out affair. And Mechanicsburg, I hope you never win another game until you fix the travesty of your mascot.

* Cuyahoga Hts looks like one of the safer bets to advance, Leipsic vs. Patrick Henry would be one of my top 5 games of the weekend. Marion Local going to end New Bremen's run, New Bremen has gotten smoked against the 2 elite teams they've played this year....their games against New Minster and Anna ended a combined 97-2.

Colerain-Elder steady at 21-14 after 3 now

Mentor claws back, down 28-21 to St. Ed's

Toledo Central Catholic laying the wood on Olentangy (lewis center), 28-7

Springfield up 35-21 on Mogadore, bit of a surprise, at least up by 14 is

Aurora 22, Chardon 19 - going to go down to the wire, book it

Avon 10-3 on Avon Lake, ditto for this one

Updates, Updates !

Reminder that the final 4 will be re-seeded, so I'll update Saturday night when those come out

D1 - Oh Good Lord I jinxed them....Mentor serves absolute heart break to the rich kids (errr, richerrrr kids) of St. Ed's, 36-35 OT win....Mentor went for 2, and got it. This is THE SECOND TIME this year Mentor beat St. Ed's by 1. Onions going for 2 there. Springfield outlasted Dublin Coffman in a....thrilling?....7-3 win. Pickerington Central cruised past Groveport-Madison and lastly Elder comes back in the 4th to shock Colerain, 28-21. Very exciting finishes for 3, mix of surprises and powerhouses. Would expect Mentor to get Springfield and Elder/Pickerington in the semi's.

D2 - The best division continues as Massillon beats Hoban 17-14, 2nd half shutout, absolutely awesome job by them to hang on, love to see it for the fanbase there. Avon separated late over Avon Lake, TCC had an easy job with Olentangy, and lastly Lasalle embarrassed Harrison. Should split it up somehow to arrange a Massillon vs. Lasalle final, and what a final that will be! Yes, I'm calling it already, sorry TCC and Avon fans.

D3 - Aurora 22-19 over nearby foe Chardon in a game everyone anticipated would be tight, Mansfield wins in OT over Sandusky and in similar fashion it's great for the city, they needed this...Bishop Hartley surprises no one and beats Jonathan Alder, Trotwood Madison takes down Hamilton Badin for the final spot. Very good final 4, Mansfield being the cinderella story a bit and then 3 solid powers, Aurora more the recent....if it was me I'd do Bishop Hartley vs. Mansfield, Trotwood Madison vs. Aurora, I think the Trotwood/Aurora game would be a blast, and ideally Trotwood/Bishop Hartley would be my final

D6 - new middleton springfield continues their unbeaten season and takes down a very good mogadore team, Carey couldn't hold onto the halftime lead and loses to East Knox, Anna obliterates Archbold 42-7, and Mechanicsburg continues their run that pisses me off and gets by Covington

***Actually looks like they announced all pairings already

D1
Mentor vs. Pickerington Central
Elder vs. Springfield

I think the first game is the real title game, but I'll be boring and say Mentor over Elder

D2
Toledo Central Catholic vs. Cincinnati Lasalle
Massillon vs. Avon

Massillon vs. Lasalle final in the GOTY, I'll take Massillon

D3
Aurora vs. Mansfield
Trotwood vs. Bishop Hartley

Yikes, not what I would have done but I get it with Trotwood being the lowest seed, I'll take Bishop Hartley over Aurora

D6
Mechanicsburg vs Anna
Springfield vs East Knox

East Knox vs Anna in what should be a very fun title game...Anna is looking too good not to complete the year with a title

THE FINAL 4'S HAVE BEEN DETERMINED!

D4
Perry somewhat shockingly lost to Poland Seminary, my donut shop had them as a -9.5 so people may be pissed tomorrow morning. Clyde kept that 8 seed magic going with a win over Ottawa Glandorf so hell yeah to that! Licking Valley rolled as expected and joining them at the dance will be Wyoming who shut out Germantown Valley View 33-0, should be a fun one folks.

D5
Kirtland won in non-exciting fashion over Akron Manchester for another return trip to the Final 4, Oak Harbor took a close one over Orrville in the battle of the O's, Ironton advances and I have nothing witty to say about that one. West Jefferson gets past West Liberty Salem in a game in which the best west one.

D7
Lucas takes down Cuyahoga Hts and once again my godforsaken curses strikes again, Hamler Patrick Henry beats Leipsic by 14, Canal Winchester Harvest Prep gets by Newark Catholic and Marion Local again advances, no shocker there.

D4 looks like it'll be...
Poland Seminary vs. Licking Valley
Clyde vs. Wyoming

I'm picking Clyde, I don't think they'll get past those 3 other teams but dammit if I'm not rolling with an 8 seed at least one time this year

D5
Kirtland vs. Oak Harbor
West Jefferson vs Ironton

Kirtland looking too good this year, and they defend their title!

D7
Patrick Henry vs Marion Local
Lucas vs Harvest Prep

Not sure how Harvest Prep is still here but they are and yolo that's what's awesome about the playoffs, but Marion Local gets redemption this year
