2019 Spring Practices, Game, and Tidbits

It'll be here before you know it!

I have to say I really wish they would've done more to give Justin more timing high completion throws. That said you have to see how different Fields is running the ball.

His throw to Victor was a thing of beauty. He is such a fluid runner and will be more of a JT guy than a DH guy. He is going to be a special player as he continues to mature, gets comfortable with the system and has more time working with the receivers.

My QB concerns... all correctable...
both Fields and Baldwin take way too much time to unload... makes you really appreciate Haskins... but when you have to wind up like these two did today, you're gonna have issues
all 3 QBs seem to release too low at times.. thus passes batted down
Baldwin has too much confidence in his cannon... thinks he can force it into very tight windows... he's not Cardale...
Obvious Chugs not getting as many reps as the other two.. timing is off

Yeah but Fields is essentially a Freshman from the play knowledge standpoint at this time and not much more than one from an experience standpoint while Baldwin is a Redshirt freshman from both. While Haskins was a redshirt Sophomore and was getting quicker and quicker with his reads as the season went on. The Fields of now and Fields of fall camp should be much different playbook knowledge wise. Also we don't know how much Day and Yurich(sp?) changed up the playbook this year.

Well stated. Obviously looked raw yesterday but I expect a lot of running plays, especially RPO's with Fields ability to run. This will set up passes downfield while Fields refines his throwing and learns the Day offense. It should look better each week.
