I find myself a little bit emotional tonight. I've been trying to think about all the greats and the teams that really wowed me over the years and there's moments in the past that were absolutely amazing. I cried tears of joy in 2002 when Jim Tressel's boys brought home the championship. That was the only one in my lifetime at that point. The 95, 96 and 98 teams brought other tears when I thought they were going to get it done. Then Urban comes along, full of promises of glory and did accomplish some that will live in Buckeye history, but it almost feels incomplete. He had the talent to win more than one in my opinion, but, he changed our recruiting maybe forever. That leads to this years team.
I'm finally confident in saying, this is the most complete Ohio State Football team I've ever witnessed with my own 46 year old eyes. So much confidence in each other and so much family feel to this season. They are the best. Period.
Now go fucking finish the job.

Counting the national championship season of 2014, our combined record against our Rival and the two other teams in our division that have won the B1G CCG (MSU and PSU) is a staggering 16-2, including 11-1 the last four years...and this is in arguably the toughest division in all of college football.

I told my wife early in the season that this team had a vibe that I haven't seen since the 2014 team, the "brotherhood" is real. These guys really seem to be willing to go to war for each other. I'm 60, and I don't remember a team this dominating and fun to watch. There always seemed to be that one weakness you hoped didn't come back to bite them. This team doesn't seem to have that. This IS a fully functional death star. Here's hoping they can finish in style with a Natty in hand.

I think you're talking about National Champs, but 2018 is the outlier for that. The 1973 Bama team benefited from that being the last year that the Coaches Poll finished voting before the bowls, so they claim 1973.

I thought so, but then I did a quick google and saw that ND was the AP champ and they had beaten Bama in the ... Sugar, I think. Maybe Cotton.. In any case, I didn't look very carefully. I guess 2018 just slipped by me as well. LOL. Thanks for the correction, though.

I can trump your 46 years by another 24 and still express the same sentiment.
The closest for me were the 1968-1969 teams - which is why 1969 was so painful. It is hard to compare because players are so much bigger, faster and athletic today - but I would have to take this years team.

I love it brother. I was alive for the 73 year but I was nowhere near old enough to even watch. I had a Buckeye Mobile over my crib and I busted my ass to get and invite to a camp back then. Earle Bruce taught me a lot about myself and recruiting during that time period. Who knows what might have happened if he stayed.
Nonetheless, no matter where I go, Buckeye blood runs through my veins and it's pumping from a heart that's always been a Buckeye, even through my Arizona State years and undergrad. You can't explain it to people who haven't lived it. I'm dead serious though when I say, all that we've lived up until now, might actually pale in comparison when these boys are done!
