I dont know what to expect with Fields, but WR is reload.
Big Qs are oline and defense getting worked out.

I think you're forgetting about some guys, but yeah, I'll take as many Thomases and Olaves as we can get.

I think you're forgetting about a TON of guys who were very talented WRs at OSU in that span(ahem: David Boston, Terry Glenn, Cris Carter, Joey Galloway, Santonio Holmes, Ted Ginn, etc, etc)

Boston is starting to get a little underrated now imo, with how stats are inflated compared to his era and probably b/c how his life spiraled out of control so he's not the easiest guy to be a fan of. He was an absolute beast in college. I'd be pleasantly surprised if Olave gets anywhere near his level.

ScriptOhio Everybody is somebody else's weirdo.

Paul Warfield was basically a RB at Ohio State; and in his 3 years playing he had 196 rushing attempts and only caught 39 passes. We are talking about Woody Hayes' "3 yards and a cloud of dust" offense here. Honestly, Paul Warfield wasn't that of impressive of receiver until he got to the NFL. Warfield played at Ohio State from 1961 1963, that's 58 years ago. Did you actually watch him play then? I did but I'm 70 years old.

Just sayin': pnuts34 is right here, IMHO those guys (especially Carter and Galloway) were just as impressive (and maybe even more so) as receivers at Ohio State than both Warfield and Thomas.

Read my post. I said "as impressive," not "more impressive." They guys you cited (apart from Ginn, whose receiving skills remain pretty marginal but is the fastest man in football) are very impressive as well. We've had some great ones in C-bus, no doubt. Don't forget Anthony Gonzales, Doug Donley and Michael Jenkins.

And to ScriptOhio: yeah, I watched Warfield at Ohio State. I was a youngster, but still old enough to appreciate what I was watching.

Mack, Hill, Victor and Olave is an impressive group of receivers. Throw in Baab, Wilson, Harris, Williams, etc. and I have no concerns about our receivers.

Victor and Mack have been incredibly inconsistent. Olave is super inexperienced. Hill is the only dependable guy in the group. Lots to prove in my opinion before we start calling them impressive.

Mack was a top guy until he went down. Olave played a ton (inexperienced?),Victor is just fine, and Hill had 900 yards.

    We are more than fine.

I am going to put all you pessimistic MOFO's to shame today.

    Fields... our WRs... Dobbins...

Are going to light. It. Up.

Who is the deep threat that McLaurin and Dixon were? And then there's Campbell's explosive plays. We don't have another guy like Paris Campbell right now. Maybe Gill can become Paris Campbell like in a couple years but we lose Campbell's play making. What we got right now are some proven "move the chains" guys and a lot of guys who have pontential but haven't seen the field. Combine that and a new starter at QB and clearly we will have struggles.

I tend to believe they were threats because they were in position to play. I believe personally we have the talent like Victor/Mack to go deep.

It took twenty years and the most prolific passing offense in B1G history for someone to break Boston's single season reception record, and Parris had nearly 400 fewer yards in 2018 than Boston had in '98.

    Boston was SO freaking good.

Olave is pretty darn fast, and his hands are worlds better then Parris' hands were at the same stage in his career.

Gotta Agree w/ buki. I think Mack was doing a creditable job.
