2019 Week 11 CFB Open Thread

In Jesse Palmer's world, Bama's loss puts Georgia in the 4th spot. Typical poll logic. Georgia has a much shittier loss, but Bama's is more recent. :roll1:

Meanwhile, Baylor and Oregon say "hello" to Jesse. Hell, State Penn has a better argument than Georgia.

again, i don't think it was a so-called wrong decision just because it didn't work out. going for it on the road when you're unranked versus a top 10 is mostly standard. something else to consider is that isu's kicker is not very good. he's 3/7 this season in kicks over 30 yards. last year, he was 8/15.

If you're the less talented team, sure, but Iowa St has shown the last two or three years they're not less talented. If it's even and the other team has players dropping like flies, you have to push it to overtime.

"Coach, should we go for two?"

Coach: I'm not sure. Does anyone have the AP poll?

If my coach is making decisions on that basis I want another coach.

Iowa State outscored Oklahoma 20-0 in the 4th quarter. They had the Sooners on the ropes and gave them a chance to escape in one play.

Exactly, when they lined up for two I said "and that's why you're Iowa State." Dumb call even if it worked. They had the momentum. Going for two there is a loser mentality.

buddy, it's just another way of saying that iowa state had nothing to lose. it's not like their season was hanging in the balance.

i think what some are missing is that the play call produced a wide open tight end right in front of the quarterback. the win was right there. it's not like we're dissecting a play that resulted in purdy being smothered where he couldn't even attempt a pass. heck, even the pass he threw was almost completed.

thread on isu forum: Help Me Understand Going For Two

look at the first response (and all the upvotes). and then read all the other posts that say their kicker cannot be trusted.
