wow!
they used to at least look like they were trying to give us a decent thursday nighter.

I think I said this last year, but I miss the big Thursday night games. Louisville beating FSU, Oregon State beating USC...

The NFL going to full season Thursday Night slate and moving the games off of NFL Network pretty much killed that. I'd like to see the G5 conferences try to put marquee games on Wednesdays so I can get a full 7 days of football:

Monday - MNF
Tuesday - fantasy football waiver research
Weds - MAC/AAC/MWest
Thurs - TNF
Friday - HS football
Saturday - CFB
Sunday - NFL

I get it, I’d just rather watch a good college game than a 13-10 NFL game. I'll probably watch more of Navy vs Memphis tonight than whatever TNF game the league has.

Lol at espin pretending there's any choice between 'ranked' virginia and nd

A little aside, for those who have subs to The Athletic, there was a really good article today on UVAs new AD, who was formally the associate AD at Georgia. She took her AD team to Georgia for a field trip to show them why they need to spend money on football facilities and assistants and not just settle for being ahead of Wake at the bottom of the ACC in football spending. She knows football drives the entire athletic department revenue bus (and UVA has been winning in a lot of other sports, aside from the football).

Bronco Mendenhall previously had 2 (and a volunteer) staffers for S&C and nutrition at UVA. The NCAA allows five. He now has five this season. He’s quoted in the article as saying she’s the first AD he’s ever had that answered every question with (paraphrasing), “I know, it’s unacceptable, I’m working on it.”

UVA has always had the donors, sounds like they now have a competent HC and AD to grease the money wheels.

Don’t get another good Thursday game until Oct 17 when Stanford visits UCLA, which is only a good game because of the names. They may be playing for bowl eligibility and not even know it.
