2020-2021 College Basketball Discussion (Official Thread)

Virginia is falling apart now losing yet another one this one at home vs NC State.

Lots of high ranking teams have gone down this week already some in major upsets.

Illinois, Oklahoma, Kansas, Virginia, Texas Tech, Virginia Tech and Missouri all have gone down already.

Hopefully Arkansas knocks off Alabama to give us some breathing room for the 1 line.

Villanova is going to be an issue if we lose another one. That wouldn't be the worst thing in the world if Ohio State can stay ahead of Illinois and Alabama since if Nova is the 1 Ohio State could be their 2.

Just want to avoid Gonzaga and Baylor's bracket especially Gonzaga. Can't be in Michigan's bracket so that cuts out 1 region.

ESPN's Joe Lunardi projects 10 B1G teams in NCAA Tournament with less than 3 weeks before Selection Sunday

ESPN’s Joe Lunardi released his latest Bracketology projection this week, and it included 10 Big Ten programs.

Michigan and Ohio State are both projected to be No. 1 seeds, despite the Buckeyes’ loss to the Wolverines over the weekend. According to the current projection, the two teams wouldn’t meet until the National Championship Game.

Illinois and Iowa aren’t far behind, each sitting with a No. 2 seed.

Here’s a full rundown of the seed list:
  • Michigan, No. 1 seed
  • Ohio State, No. 1 seed
  • Illinois, No. 2 seed
  • Iowa, No. 2 seed
  • Purdue, No. 5 seed
  • Wisconsin, No. 5 seed
  • Rutgers, No. 8 seed
  • Maryland, No. 10 seed
  • Indiana, No. 11 seed
  • Minnesota, No. 12 seed
Nebraska, Penn State, Northwestern and Michigan State are not listed in the Field of 68 or in either of Lunardi’s “First Four Out” or “Next Four Out” designations.

However, the Spartans still have a reasonable path to making the Big Dance. They defeated No. 5 Illinois on Tuesday night and still have three more games remaining vs. top-5 teams (including two with Michigan).
