2020-2021 College Basketball Discussion (Official Thread)

So Gregg Marshall is officially fired ("resigned") at Wichita State. I guess that statement where Marshall denied assaulting his player was FALSE. Marshall seems like a very angry man, so it doesn't surprise me one bit.

It seems odd to reward a man by paying him nearly $8 million to leave Wichita because he assaulted a young man under his tutelage. I would think that constitutes a breach of contract, but I guess Wichita is either made of money or doesn't see a benefit in risking a long, drawn out legal battle. You mean I get $8M, I don't have to admit fault, AND I get to leave Kansas? I would call that a win-win-win for Marshall in the end.

Maybe there’s an NDA involved? The school may have let him walk with $8M so he doesn’t discuss any possible involvement they had covering up these acts (or others worse). Between him and his nutjob wife, I have a feeling there’s some skeletons in Wichita that no side wants out.

Bruce Pearl dirty? How do we keep letting these coaches break rulesand bail.

Still waiting on the football program...

Yeah, that's the ticket, hide the NCAA notice of infractions and no one will ever know you did anything wrong

PS, Auburn also did their current players dirty by issuing a postseason ban less than a week before the season starts. I feel that kids should be allowed to transfer and be eligible elsewhere immediately, AND not even count towards the other school's scholarship limit, when their school hits them with a postseason ban in the same semester of their competition. Auburn is warding off transfers by sneaking it in at the last minute and shouldn't be rewarded by their delay. No doubt some of these kids would have left if they had known in the spring what they know now.

Some friendly betting advice, I’m not sure Vegas can make a number high enough for Chicago St. Far and away the worst team in the country the last 3 years. They still can’t cover anything.

I’ve gone against them for 1st half and full game each of their first two games. I’m 4-0. Illinois is smacking them by 60.

I think I read the average loss to power 5 teams last season was 53 points. Their coach just bailed on the season hours before first tip citing Covid but I’m guessing he saw what was on the court and said screw it.

Mark Titus has been (jokingly?) campaigning for the job for years. I don’t see how he’d be worse.
