2020-2021 College Basketball Discussion (Official Thread)

They were the most popular fraternity on the campus of college basketball in the early 1980s. Led by a Nigerian soccer player named Hakeem Olajuwon and a lightly recruited hometown kid named Clyde Drexler, the University of Houston Cougars not only electrified the NCAA Final Four with three straight appearances (1982-84), but they also helped transform the game itself.

Shaka should've never left VCU. He had a great run going, got suckered by the big job with the big paycheck, but was smart enough to get out.

Don't be surprised when Marquette is challenging again for the Big East. Some good coaches function better when the spotlight isn't so bright.

Just sayin': Ain't that the truth.
That might very well be the truth Script... but this is a little bit of a pot/kettle argument... Locals will disagree until access or information is threatened then they fall in line.... and from my understanding it was 1 national media member who was saying this...

I actually think Shaka could do quite well at a place like Marquette. Some coaches just seem to do better outside of the big lights at programs like Texas. Archie Miller/Indiana being another example.

Then there's the whole fact that Texas athletics as a whole have been a big stew of disfunction for over a decade...

Texas is a coaching sinkhole: entitled unrealistic fans, meddling boosters and now throw the whole "Eyes" controversy into the recruiting mix. It is and will continue to be the fucking graveyard of coaches for football and basketball.
