Seems odd to see the helmet of a Heisman Trophy winner in The Game with no Buckeye Leaves on one side, but they weren’t given out so liberally back then.

Now, if that’s from 1973, Archie won the Silver Football that year but not the Heisman, and if it’s from 1975, he won the Heisman but not the Silver Football (went to Corny Greene that year).

My theory on that is the Silver Football is chosen from among the Team MVPs (theory), and Flam was the Buckeye MVP in 75 (fact).

EDIT: It has to have been 1975.
Greg Morton (traitor from Akron) wore #77 for the scUM bags during that time, but in 1973 he was still an offensive tackle. He switched to DT in 1974.

EDIT II: For those who don't remember, the good guys won 21-14 that day. IIRC, that was the year that Archie's younger brother Ray was the hero, grabbing a late interception that set up a Pete Johnson touchdown.

Academic All Big Ten
Captain
Zach Boren

Another Zack Boren play in that 2012 game:

State of perfection: Ohio State defeats Michigan, 26-21; finishes 12-0

The opposing side's first possession would look equal parts inspired, with Denard Robinson, who started the game under center but never attempted a pass, broke outside for a signature Denard 30 yard scramble. The Buckeyes would look to ostensibly seize all the momentum in the 105,899 packed stadium after a freshman Adolphus Washington sack of Michigan's primary quarterback on the day, junior Devin Gardener, popped the ball loose. Ohio State's johnny-on-the-spot was senior fullback-turned-linebacker Zach Boren, one of the best stories in college football this year, who recovered the ball and returned possession to the Buckeyes.

Bobby Carpenter

Bobby is yet another Buckeye that does not have "All Big Ten" on his resume (2nd team). He was the 3rd Big Ten linebacker taken in the NFL draft (18th pick).
The Ped State LB that was first team All Big Ten ahead of Bobby was a Junior who would go on to be the 34th pick in the following year's draft. Draft status isn't everything, but I think all Buckeye fans felt that Bobby was robbed.
