2021 College Football Polls

It WOULD be about the most Harbaugh thing ever to trip over their dicks and get curbstomped by the Hawkeyes.

Yep. Iowa is about the worst 10-2 team you'll ever see in a major conference. They benefited heavily from not having to play Ohio State, scUM or Sparty in the regular season. Lost by a combined 51-14 to Wisconsin and Purdue.

Last 4 games since those 2 bad losses

5 point win over Northwestern (3-9)
5 point win over Minnesota (8-4)
10 point win over Illinois (5-7)
7 point win over Nebraska (3-9)

Their offense is just flat bad. Passing they make Reno Jesus look like Manning and running they only averaged 3.3 YPC as a team on the season. Their defense is not on that elite level to be able to make up for that.

If scUM is truly a championship caliber team, this game should not be close.

3 losses in front of us. Not impossible. Will they take Baylor over tOSU for tv ratings? How about a 1 loss Cincy? 2 loss Bama? 2 loss Bichigan would be a brutal argument. ND without a HC?

Otherwise it's not impossible. Give me Ryan Day a month to prepare.

Ohio State has finished the year in the top six of the AP Top 25 for the eighth year in a row.

The Buckeyes are ranked sixth in the final AP Top 25 for the 2021 season, which was released early Tuesday morning, behind Georgia, Alabama, Michigan, Cincinnati and Baylor.

The sixth-place finish is the lowest ranking for the Buckeyes since 2016, when they also finished sixth after suffering a 31-0 loss to Clemson in the College Football Playoff semifinals. Ohio State finished fifth in the AP poll in 2017, third in both 2018 and 2019 and second in 2020.

6th place is a total joke. Nobody who actually watches CFB thinks that Cincinnati or Baylor would beat Ohio State.

Media bias is real....

In the 2017 Rose Bowl, Southern Cal rallied from 14 points down to win by 3 points; in the 2022 Rose Bowl, Ohio State rallied from 14 points down to win by 3 points.

Southern Cal finished with a record of 10-3 for the 2016 season; Ohio State finished with a record of 11-2 for the 2021 season.

After its 3-point Rose Bowl win, Southern Cal went from #9 to #3 in the 2016 final AP Poll; after its 3-point Rose Bowl win, Ohio State went from #7 to #6 in the final AP Poll.

But but but Ohio State had a really bad loss (42-27) to Michigan in 2021.

In 2016, Southern Cal lost to Alabama by the score of 52-6. They also lost to Stanford by the score of 27-10.

Additional proof that the AP shouldn't have anything to do with who gets into the CFP. A bunch of asshats .....

Maybe it's that a win over OSU is a much bigger win than a win over USC, thus USC shoots up after beating OSU, but OSU does not shoot up after beating USC.

So, is the AP required to keep all the playoff teams in the top 4? Seems like Cincy and TSUN should have dropped out.

edited to add:

Wait, I forgot we lost to an SEC team, which is a win. Answered my own question.
They tend to unless one team gets totally housed and the team behind it looks amazing in it's bowl not surprised by that... I am more confused by Baylor beating Ole Miss without it's star QB is somehow amazing enough to jump over OSU
