Final record prediction: 12-0, 9-0

Wins: Notre Dame, Arkansas State, Toledo, Wisconsin, Rutgers, at Michigan State, Iowa, at Penn State, at Northwestern, Indiana, at Maryland, Michigan

Losses: None

The word: With a much-improved defense and one of the nation's most explosive units offensively, an extremely hungry Ohio State team should be able to get through the regular season unscathed if the Buckeyes are able to avoid road losses to Michigan State or Penn State entering the rivalry showdown versus Michigan at the end of November. The opener against Notre Dame could be worrisome as well.

Can anybody point me to a scholarship grid?
I've read we are at 92 and there won't be an extension of the "Covid Year" loophole.

I have no concerns we will get to 85.
Just want to get a handle on who might be candidates to move on.

Three interesting tidbits:



+The defensive backs worked with new coach Tim Walton on a drill that emphasized forcing fumbles and scooping up fumbles. Both Walton and Perry Eliano worked with the cornerbacks and safeties.



+ On who has been stepping up into a leadership role, Day said in the off-season, they decided leadership was the number thing they needed to get done this off-season. They educated the players on leadership, asked who wanted to be the leaders, they volunteered, then were voted onto a leadership committee and the staff assigned 12 squads where two leaders were assigned to each. If a player was late, there was community service for the whole group. They really communicated, stepped up, and were accountable. During those seven weeks, there was a lot more leadership than they’ve had in a while and it was encouraging. Leadership stepped up at halftime in the Rose Bowl.

+ DC Jim Knowles
He approaches teaching by how the players’ lives are. He keeps it lively and active. Because they are on their phones so often, they do a lot of teaching through the phone. He always evaluates his teaching methods to make sure he is constantly becoming a better teacher. This generation wants reason and meaning behind what they’re doing and there’s nothing wrong with that. That forces us to grow as teachers.

Reasons Why The Buckeyes Will Win A National Championship This Season - Volume I


The Buckeyes have won two National Championships in my adult life.

When they won it in 2002, I had been living in Southern California for 4 years.
When they won it in 2014, I had left SoCal, but had been back for 2 years.
As this cannot possibly be a coincidence, obviously it means that the Buckeyes will win a National Championship within the first year of my next move back to Southern California.

I arrived yesterday.
