though penn has yet to receive an offer, there is no doubt that he will. sure, one will go broke forecasting the college careers of kids who have completed only one year of high school, but i think i'm taking very little risk by claiming scoonie's son is an absolute star in the making. i don't care if he won't be physically imposing. while there is so much more to like about his game (stop-and-go, crossover, mid-range, etc.), what stands out the most is that i can't recall such a young point guard with such a pure, quick, and deadly stroke from well beyond the arc. throw in an ideal tutor as his father, and i can only imagine just how good junior will be in a few years.

francis and penn back-to-back? are you kidding me?

Some takes from his unofficial visit.
"I did not tour the school but I got to watch (team workouts) and got to sit down with Coach Holtmann and coach Pedon and talk to them with my mom," explained Penn. "They wanted to know a lot about me and my family and they were telling me how great and beautiful the university was."

Penn spent the most time with Buckeyes' assistant coach Ryan Pedon.

"Lastly I ate and talked to coach Pedon for a long time and we were bonding pretty well," he continued. "I feel like I have a really good relationship with the coaching staff now."

It is never certain how prospects will react to sweeping coaching changes, but so far so good when it comes to Penn and the Buckeyes.
