BOOOOOOM!

In what had seemed like the most low key Friday Night Lights recruiting camp of Urban Meyer’s Ohio State tenure, the Buckeyes turned a slow burn into a boom.

Tapping into the talent rich DeMatha Catholic pipeline from Hyattsville, MD, the Buckeyes received the coveted pledge of four-star defensive end Chase Young. At 6'5, 225 pounds and checking in as the third best weakside defensive end, the best player from the state of Maryland and the 28th best player in the country, Young was expected to ultimately come down to either the Buckeyes or the home-state Terrapins.

In addition to the Terps and Buckeyes, Young had offers from virtually every top program in the country, including Alabama, Florida State, Michigan, Notre Dame, and more.

Adding to what’s largely the most loaded recruiting class in the country, the Bucks now will need to run out the clock until National Signing Day 2017 in hopes of landing the official signature of the coveted star defensive lineman.

To see what Young brings to the table, check out these highlights, courtesy of our friends at Hudl:

And courtesy of friend of the Holy Land Josh Winslow, check out the precise moment Young told Ohio State coaches he was going to be a Buckeye:
