Tyler Friday spent his weekend visiting the scarlet and gray

It's nearly here. Ohio State's 2016 football team reports to fall camp in under week as they prepare for their season opener on Sept. 3 against Bowling Green State University. While the 2016 Buckeyes have a few days left of "summer" to themselves, the staff was still hard at work playing host to a top ranked prospect over the weekend.

Friday checks out Ohio State

In today's world, Ohio State seems to be hosting a top ranked prospect nearly every day. This weekend was no different for the Ohio State football staff. Over the weekend, the top ranked prospect in New Jersey for the 2018 class, Tyler Friday (Ramsey, NJ / Don Bosco Prep ), made a stop in Columbus for a weekend unofficial visit to see what the Buckeyes have to offer.

Making it public via his Twitter, Tyler seemed to enjoy himself and came away very impressed with Ohio State.

Amazing visit to OSU this weekend special thanks to the @OhioStateFB family for having me #Gobuckeyes

Getting to town on Friday and leaving yesterday, the Jersey product was able to check out the facilities and get an inside look to what the Buckeyes have going as one of college football's top programs.

As of right now, Tyler has an impressive list of eleven offers including schools such as Alabama, Maryland, Michigan, North Carolina and Ohio State amongst others. Ranked as the country's fifth best defensive tackle and the top overall prospect from New Jersey, Friday is listed as a composite 4-star prospect in the class of 2018 according to 247sports.

With nothing but time until a final decision is signed on, Ohio State looks to be a major player for his services.

2019 youngster receives OSU offer

Most of the new offers that Ohio State sends out are for the 2018 class. As the Buckeyes top ranked and historical 2017 class continues to impress and take shape, the 2018 class is next in line for recruiting attention. However, late this past week, a 2019 stud picked up his latest offer from the Buckeyes.

Dominick Blaylock (Marietta, GA / Walton) is the latest prospect to earn a Buckeye offer and he wasn't shy to show his gratitude to Ohio State.

NEW OFFER! 2019 ATH/WR @domblaylock (6' 0" 180) thankful @OhioStateFB offered! #OSU #Big10 https://t.co/69nA7jKw5v pic.twitter.com/BbBnwdw2V9

Only a sophomore to be, Blaylock already possess an incredible list of over twenty scholarship offers. With his latest coming from Ohio State, other schools to throw their hat into the ring include Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Florida, Florida State, Georgia and many more.

Only having one season of high school football under his belt, Blaylock, a 6-foot, 180-pound athlete, has yet to receive a 247sports recruiting ranking – but when it is available, it will obviously be a top ranking in the state of Georgia as well as the country with his offer list.

The Marietta athlete has a long time before he signs on the dotted line, but look for Ohio State to do everything they can to impress another Peach State star.

OSU basketball makes final 11

Switching things to the hardwood, Ohio State basketball received positive news over the weekend as 5-star prospect Kris Wilkes (Indianapolis, IN / North Central) placed Ohio State in his list of final schools he will be considering before a final decision is made.

The Indianapolis product is ranked as the fifth best small forward in the 2017 class and the second best overall prospect in the talent-rich state of Indiana. With just under twenty scholarship offers, Wilkes, a 6-foot-7, 190-pound star would make a huge impact on Thad Matta's recruiting class. There is no set date for Wilkes's decision, but the Buckeyes will be sure to throw their best full-court press at Kris hoping to land the elite 5-star.
