Another huge get for the famed Buckeye camp

Ohio State will host its prestigious Friday Night Lights camp this week. Since Urban Meyer has been with Ohio State, this annual camp has become a staple in the football program's recruiting efforts. Year after year, the list of visitors only gets better, with this year being no different. The group of recruits scheduled to attend the event this weekend could possibly be the best yet.

    5-star WR Lindsey to FNL

On Twitter late Monday night, five-star wide receiver Tyjon Lindsey (Corona, CA / Centennial) made the announcement on his status for FNL.

The 5-foot-9 speedster has been in the Buckeye radar for quite some time. Currently, he is projected by 247Sports crystal ball to be going to Ohio State. Having Lindsey appear at FNL (after visiting with Alabama earlier this week) looks to be good news for the scarlet and gray.

The better news is that the Tweet from Lindsey includes the famed “Zone 6”. Star receivers have been made from Ohio State under Zach Smith’s guidance in the zone. Could Lindsey be the next one?

A hometown kid to Friday Night Lights

This impressive list only got better Monday, when Columbus native, Jaelen Gill (Westerville, OH / Westerville South) confirmed with Bucknuts that he would be one of the many recruits at this year's event. Gill is a heavy Buckeye lean as it stands today, but the 2018 star recruit has received plenty of offers from some of the best institutions in the country.

Gill is a four-star prospect and is seen as the No. 2 recruit in the state of Ohio. The 6-foot, 172-pound all-purpose running back is seen as the No. 2 all-purpose back in his class and 247sports currently has him slotted as the No. 29 overall player. It is a no-brainer that getting Gill on the Ohio State campus will help solidify the Buckeyes as the favorites to land the hometown talent, but don't expect Gill to be on commitment watch this week. Gill told Bucknuts there is no chance he will commit this weekend.

Gill has offers from the likes of Michigan, Michigan State, Florida State, Penn State, Oregon and Wisconsin - just to name a few. Expect him to take his time in his recruitment process, as it seems he wants to make sure he seeks out every opportunity presented to him. It will be crucial to Ohio State's 2018 recruiting class to keep Gill in-state, keep up to date with Land-Grant Holy Land for any and all updates on his recruitment.

Elite 2018 talent working hard to attend FNL

Ohio State may have another elite recruit from the 2018 class attend Friday Night Lights this year. We already talked about how Jaiden Woodbey (Upland, CA / St. John Bosco) would like to attend the event this year, and despite all sorts of obstacles in his way, the California product is trying his best to find a way to get across-country to be in Columbus this weekend.

Woodbey is a four-star safety and is looked at as one of the top three at his position. He is current teammates with one of Ohio State's 2017 commits, Wyatt Davis, the No. 1 offensive guard in the country. Davis mentioned last week that Woodbey is the No. 1 guy he is recruiting to join him in Columbus, and the two were scheduled to attend the camp this weekend together.

Unfortunately, Davis will not be able to attend the event due to a family event, but that hasn't stopped Woodbey in his efforts to make the trek to Columbus. Woodbey told 247sports that he is now looking at one of his current coaches for a ride. If the coach is able to attend the event, look for Woodbey to impress at the camp. He will have plenty of opportunities to cover a great group of WR prospects attending this years camp.

Ohio State CB target will transfer to IMG Academy

IMG Academy has become one of the best football institutions in high school football, and Ohio State has had a lot of luck in recruiting elite talents from the academy as of late. The Buckeyes were able to secure commits from two members of the program in the 2016 recruiting class and already have commits from two others for 2017.

Houston Griffith (Bradenton, FL / IMG Academy) announced Monday that he would be transferring to the elite program for his final two years of high school. Griffith is on the Buckeyes radar and Urban Meyer's football program has already offered him a scholarship. However, the Buckeyes have some stiff competition with Notre Dame and Michigan State being the favorites to land his services.

The four-star cornerback has seen the activity in his recruitment process skyrocket this summer and now that he will be able to practice with an institution like IMG Academy, expect even more elite universities to join his list of suitors. The Buckeyes will have to continue to recruit Griffith if they are keen on him playing in Columbus, and will need to get him to visit the university at least once before he is even close to being ready to commit.

On the hardwood, there was some recruiting news for Thad Matta’s Buckeyes.

    Ohio State offers Eli Brooks

    — JerseyShoreWarriors (@JSWarriors) July 18, 2016

Point guard Eli Brooks (Spring Grove, PA / Spring Grove) got an offer to be part of the Buckeye family. The class of 2017 product also got an offer from current national champions Villanova, who is considered to be the frontrunner according to 247Sports crystal ball predictions.

If you want to see what the 6-foot-1 PG can do, look no further than this highlight reel that appears on Twitter.
