(6) THE Ohio State vs. (11) Dayton, Thurs 3/20, 12:15p ET, CBS

Ud played one of their best defensive games of the year. I thought OSU would play better on offense against UDs pourus defense. I was surprised that UD pulled it out shooting so poorly from 3. Still drunk.

We lost because:
Matta lost control of this team very early in the season, the team was divided, and because Williams went from a very agressive freshman to a junior who seems to have given up.

What I can't understand is why any of them believes that they are better than they are. Then I listen to most of you, and I know why. Those of you who feel this was an upset, raise your hand.

That's the problem.

I'm not shocked at all we lost. In fact I'm glad I didn't fill out a bracket because this would've been a tough game for me to pick. Our issue on offense is we have always had one dominant scorer the last few years with Thomas, Diebler, Turner, Sully, and back to Conley. We have always waited for one player to save us and that is what this year's basketball team is use to. They're use to a big three by Thomas or a big block by sully now that the safety net isn't there no one has stepped up. Not that no one didn't try but just no one is on the level as some of our last ultimate scorers.

Loving is a good player but I must say we really needed a big time talent like Wiggins to keep this offense honest. Problem is we just don't have that type of talent IMO. I would love to see us develop two scoring threats because we normally rely on one player for offense and if that player gets shut down we get shut down and eliminated. In order to win the tournament you must play good defense, REBOUND, and hit clutch shots when it matters most. Right now we are about as far away from winning the tourney as I can remember because no player has shown the ability to hit big shots and we do not have much of a presence in the paint.

It was an upset both in perception and in seeding.

But it wasn't a surprise for anyone who has watched this team this year.

Folks done lost they damn minds. Probably the greatest stretch of Buckeye hoops success in history, and definitely the best run since Hondo and Lucas, and people on the least crazy stupid Buckeye message board are calling for Matta's job and blaming fans for a 25 win season and a NCAA tourney appearance.

What the fuck
I respectfully disagree. I don't believe it's people, I believe it's a (singular) person. Beyond that, you're spot on.
Plus, I look for every chance I can find to disagree with Kyle.

Disagreeing with me is usually a safe bet.
Usually.
I'm sure most of you won't agree, but it's time for Matta to go. That or find some better assistants who can produce with the raw talent we get. Matta is a fantastic recruiter, but honestly at best is a decent coach. His record is impressive and almost all of that is due to raw talent like the Oden's, Sullingers, Thomas's etc. This team really bothered me this year. Craft didn't get any better offensively, neither did Scott, nor Amir, nor Lenzelle. Thompson and Q were the only two who looked to progress from last year. Our offense looked putrid today in my mind. Watching Cuse playing, their offense just has so much more flow, movenment, post ups, the whole thing. We are missing that. We didn't have a knock down shooter this year and often times we played to the level of our opponent, which is why I strongly consider taking UD over us in my bracket.

Great recruiter but the man doesn't have a great track record of producing great players from that raw talent like Ohio State should. I appreciate how he put Ohio State bball back on the map, but that was with recruiting not producing great players all that much.
