Game Thread #7 tOSU 18, Purdue 26 (Oct 17, Noon ET, BTN)

Meh, they looked good offensively against Oregon, but they aren't anything near the level of our "D". All in all PU is very, very weak.

I say we absolutely trash them, like 40+ points.

By the way, our record against the spread is excellent. And its not like they are weak spreads, we are covering 10-15 point spreads week in and week out. I know we didn't cover against Navy, but I know we did against USC, Toledo, Illini, IU and Wisky. This Buckeye team is special, I have a really good feeling about the way this season is shaping up. There is a great chance that we jump in the top 5 after this week...not that its super important, but it is a good thing.

Go Bucks, fuck the Boilers!

My wife and I are thinking about going to the game and staying over in Lafayette. Any suggestions were to spend the rest of the day/evening celebrating our beat-down of Purdon't and watching the remaining CFB schedule?

They might be able to give us a bit of trouble.

FALSE. This game will be an absolute clinic. Purdue's players will not want to be on the field by the end. This OSU group does not look past anybody. That spells trouble for the Boilers. Beatdown in West Lafayette. -13.5 is the line right now. I'd put my daughter's college savings plan on it that OSU covers--and probably doubles--that line.

HUGE game for the offense in this one, as the D continues to dominate.

Buckeyes- 42
Boilermakers- 0

For all you TP haters, I'll have this waiting for you..................................

Just FYI, they are playing the OSU PU game from 2002. What a great [censored]ing feeling, that was an incredible season.

That game is insane. 4th and 1 and they ended up throwing a bomb for TD?!

Did anyone explain if it was actually designed as first read to Michael Jenkins or not? I would think that it's probably to a TE for first read or that is just a damn gutsy call.

(I'm deaf and they do not have any closed captioning on for this commentary).

They didn't mention anything about it. Musburger basically just goes nuts and ends up yelling "HOLY BUCKEYE!!"

I'm pretty sure in the Youtube highlights done by OurHonorDefend, they said that MJ was the last option on the play. Hartsock was the first read if i recall.

Pretty sure it was supposed to go to Hartsock. There were, I think, three other options besides Jenkins. The other three were just running routes to get a first down. Craig saw Jenkins...the rest is history.

A gutsy fourth-down play hinged on instant analysis and - 08.11.03 - SI Vault
A thorough explanation of the play, King Right 64 Y Shallow Swap, that led to Holy Buckeye! Hartsock is the first option underneath, then Gamble on a dig and Jenkins long.
