As opponent fans go, I'd say the other OSU guys are top notch. No need to apologize for someone posting on your own board.

So, were you at all surprised at how our OSU dominated? Especially where it concerns shutting Morency down?

Another question, Ok St hung with both Texas and OU. Do you think Ohio State would beat them. I know you can't really compare like that, but I figure you know the Big XII better than I do, and now you've seen Ohio State play against a team you know particularly well.

Might have something to do with this.

Our defensive performance was amazing. They knew that the Cowboys were going to come out and try to establish the run; and we shut it down. Great win last night. And a great finale for our seniors.

A great win, but when we only give the ball to the 8th best back in the country, 8 times, there were serious problems with the play calling. Our coaches did as much to shut down the running game as your D did. 8 touches is a season low for VMo and DW's set a career high for passes. We stepped away from everything that got us to where we were.

I applogize on behalf of our fanbase for the way he is acting.
Wang.....as a couple other Planet faithful have already said....there is no need for any apology. I'm sure any team board you might happen to visit will have posters like jakeman.....if the truth be known he was probably just upset at the time he posted what he did and was probably from simply being upset with the outcome of the game. I think all of you Poke fans have been quite knowledgeable, well-informed and polite. I hope you continue to drop by when you have the time.

To those of you that say I do not need to applogize, I thank you. Dealing with sooner fans on a daily basis I like to think that my fellow Cowboys fans are above such behavior. But you are right, every fan base has those individuals. I'm just sorry you had to encounter it on our site. Thanks again for all your hospitality.

Thats the problem with being a one dimensional, run oriented team- you guys were playing from behind all night, of course the carries will be lower than normal. Also take into account that your coaches probably knew from the game films that you would have to throw first to run on us.

Make no mistake however, when you tried to run the ball you couldn't-don't try and make it out to be some fluke thing.

Play calling takes a pretty big hit when you're down by 20 after the 1st 20 minutes. I read in the paper today that one of your starting O-lineman was out and that Miles had intended to throw the ball more anyway. Still, when you have a 1400 yard back, you get that guy the ball. Whether it was scheme, Ohio State's D, or the score, the fact that your bread and butter player was all but benched couldn't have been expected, yes?

Uh, why would the coaches keep giving the ball to a RB that kept getting stuffed for about 2 ypc?

Absolutely correct. Nobody expected it, it'd be interesting to here what tOSU coaches have to say about the situation.

"With that statement you could easily have been a fan of the Buckeyes over the past 4 years."

Or a fan of the cowboys for this year (and some). There's to many incidents this year that make you go "huh?" I honestly wondering what they were thinking, and I really wish the coaches would take the blame for it rather then blaming it on our players' inability to "execute."

"Great. Now, about that smelly building...."

I'm telling ya dude....I don't know :)

And Ginn only averaged 6 yards on punt returns....but he only touched it once. But the opportunity was still there for him to return punts. You don't bench the guy that got you there after 8 carries because he's not living up to expectations. VMo averages 25 carries per game. 8 carries is a mear 32% of his normal carries. He could have brought his game average up to his season average with just a few decent runs. See my point?

Fair point WangHo. Perhaps The Comboys had a "down" night? I mean every team has one of those games where things don't mesh. Our Bucks had such a game against Iowa this year.

I'm convinced that The Cowboy team did not expect our vigorous D which set the climate for the whole game from the 1st play. The Cowboy bench and the players on the field did not appear to have high spirit.

I also believe Oklahoma State did not have an appreciation for our overall speed on offense, or the very good qualities of Zwick...and I said so a few days ago after reading the fine blog writeup featured on our O by a Cowboy fan.

My guess is the OklaSt team can be explosive against some teams. They just hit a well conceived Buckeye gameplan last night...implemented by a hungry, talented TEAM.

The comparison between Morency on designed run plays and Ginn on a punt return isn't even close to being valid. First, "the opportunity was still there for him to return punts" wasn't true since Farden kept kicking the ball out of bounds or totally away from Ginn...out of seven punts (one more than I had predicted), Ginn got only one touch. Second, the run plays for Morency are designed for him to get the ball...there are only two reasons for the failure of a running play: 1.) poor execution by the offense, or 2.) superior play by the defense. Morency's longest carry was 7 yards, so he had 13 net yards on his 7 other carries...this implies to me our defense with ready to stuff the run.
