Of OSU, ND, USC etc. follows that team in every sport and not just a sport they are good at and and does not follow another team in another sport exp. when that team is good at the other sport! Alot of fans around SB like ND in football and IU in basketball which in my opinion is crap.....

OPINIONS PLEASE!
 
I believe that just shows the true nature of ND fans and is one of the multitude of reasons I hate them with every fiber of my being. Another couple of years of mediocre football and they will start liking IU in that too!!!

NDCHIEF is correct. While I root for Ohio State in football more than any other sport, I still root for them in basketball, volleyball, etc. I don't care how good Cincinnati is in basketball or Pepperdine is in volleyball, Ohio State is my team, period.

NASTY-It is more IU fans rooting for ND in football but in basketball they root for IU! ND is known as a football school and not ranked while other sports such as basketball, baseball and soccer have all been doing much,much better than football as of late..

I think that opinion is completely lame. I've been rooting of OSU football and UK basketball all my life. That's just the way I was raised. I'm from the Dayton-Springfield area, and Buckeye football is king here. There are also alot of transplanted Kentuckians here though, and UK basketball is big in this area as well. Being a fan of both is largely a result of the culture of the area, and not a result of a desire to be a frontrunner.

Call it what you want, but I'm no bandwagon fan. I started following these two teams when neither of them were all that good - around 1991. I've celebrated their great victories, and cried through their heartbreaking defeats. I didn't take the UK stuff out of my sig after UK lost to UAB in the tourney this year, and on the UK boards, I have not taken the OSU stuff out of my sig when OSU has lost, even though many of them people hate the Buckeyes. I still root for OSU basketball and other sports, and vice versa for UK. I don't think any of this means I have any less integrity as a fan.

you see folks. this thread was a pathetic attempt by NDFag to prove some point to himself that i am not a true fan because I root for OSU football and Syracuse bball.

he told me he was going to make this thread, and i encouraged it. however, i didnt realize he was going to ask the question in some bass ackwards fucked up ND style.

simply put....what NDChump wants to know is, can you be a true fan if you are a fan of OSU football and a different school in a different sport.

i dont give a fuck what is "determined" here. Its not like i was raised on buckeye sports, realized their bball team wasnt as good as other schools, and switched to syracuse. but whatever, ND needs his ego stroked. i just figured id clue everybody in.

I root for the Bucks if they are participating. If not I root against the team involved who I hate the most. The point I was trying to make earlier is most ND fans are about as knowledgeable about football as Tibor is about the female anatomy. They root for Notre Dame when they are good and otherwise could give a shit. Most of them are either Irish, Catholic, or just plain Douchenozzle's. Don't get me wrong I have nothing against Irish or Catholics, I am some of both. but I grew up in Y-town and you are constantly surrounded by these catholics talking shit about ND and then when you ask them who the quarterback is they don't have a clue. They have remained remarkably silent for the last several years other than the time when most of them revoked their fanship when they hired that "Black Guy" However if ND ever rises from the ashes I am sure they will be back.

I know off the subject but I needed to vent.

btw -Rooting for another team after your team is out is fine but having 2 schools one good in fb and one good at bb is well stacking the deck. So what happens if OSU losses 2-3 more this year 27! You switching to USC?

i live a few hours from syracuse, and basketball is my favorite sport. i grew up playing/watching bball and not so much football. after i had syracuse as an established favorite basketball team, i started watching buckeye games with my dad. dont get me wrong, ill root for the buckeyes in basketball.....unless they are playing cuse.

on the same token...ill clap when syracuse wins a football game, but the bucks are my favorite.

I don't see a problem liking one school is one sport, and another school in another sport. Especially if you never attended that university personally. If your father raised you as a Buckeye football lover, but your mother raised you as a Syracuse basketball lover, I wouldn't see the problem.
