Alabama Crimson Tide (official thread of Football, Fake Championships and Banjo)

I think they're favored simply because they've played a tougher schedule. Even the loss to Ole Miss was good preparation for a game like this.

The upside is - if Nick Chubb comes in and really makes a statement, he would probably jump Fournette as the Heisman front runner.
He would have to go insane and Fournette would have to have a dud against Eastern SUN. Fournette is the media darling right now...and deservedly so.

Odds are against the "Jump Fournette"...didn't work so well for #28 here:

This is all bulletin board material for Saban. I see Alabama beating UGA down! UGA has the exact offense that fits into Bamas defensive strengths: a run oriented defense with a pocket passer. That plays right into Sabans hands. Saban has the most difficulty with spread teams with dual threat QBs that hurry up the offense, none of which UGA does. My money is on the Tide. Though this game isn't a solid barometer of their descent, nor will many games outside of the SEC...
Agree 100%. Georgia's offense is exactly what Saban has built his defense to stop and they are the best in the country at stopping that kind of offense. Bama wins by 12. For the record I think bamas other big win for the season is lsu. I see a 10-2 season for the tide this year but not sure where the other loss comes from. Maybe atm.

The only way a team can beat Bama is by selling out to stop Henry, which is no small task. And forcing them to win with Coker. The QBs for Bama(no matter how formerly highly rated) are not very good. Add to that that there's no Amari Cooper this year to bail them out either and you have a very vulnerable Bama against elite teams and no more Tide mystique. I also could see the LSU game going either way since both teams are identical to one another and have been for years. AtM is an interesting game but can the young pups play without emotions getting too much involved to hang on for a win?

This bammer team exposes Joey Freshwater's limitations as a coordinator. I think Henry is in the same league, or at least close enough to it, as Fournette or Chubb. But instead of leaning on him, they're only giving him an average of 16-17 carries a game. With shaky QB play, that's idiotic. He should be getting 25 carries a game. Same story against us in the Sugar Bowl. Henry was breaking off huge chunks of yards, but Kiffin insisted on trying to get his relatively ineffective passing game going. If they would have kept feeding Henry, I'm not sure the Bucks would have been able to roar back into that game and win it.

With their enormous Oline, Henry should be getting 25-30car AT LEAST! Kiffin is a terrible OC, Stevie Wonder can see that Henry is the best player offensively for Bama. He's coaching them right out of of the playoff race and possibly the SEC if he keeps it up... But ya know, don't matter had sex!

An elite defense can easily stop bama's offense. A monster front seven to show them they can't win only running Henry, and two good-to-great corners to keep bama's average receivers from getting open reliably. Then just let Coker be Coker and Kiffen be Kiffen. Any offense with a good quarterback that makes quick reads and a lot of speed can beat their defense. Get the ball out quick to the perimeter to speedy guys that can beat bama's average corners. Very excited for the atm game. If they can get the young talent playing well, I see a solid win there. That said I think atm loses 2 games this year. They are basically Georgia with 9,10,11 win seasons every season, never a top 5 but always a solid top 20.

  • Mark Richt (Georgia): 38-35; .520
  • Kevin Sumlin (Houston, Texas A&M): 12-10; .545

You have almost a 50/50 chance betting on Richt, the nicest guy in the SEC...
Where does UFM fall on this list?
