The other coaches would never say it, but I heard the same thing said by opposing players about Woody's buckeye teams. "We'd put everybody but the safety up to stop the run, cause we knew he wouldn't throw it." Hayes ran a simple offense because he knew he had a huge advantage up front; that pounding the ball every down was sound strategy -- until those rare days when the other guy took a two score lead halfway through the 3rd quarter.

Oh I agree but that was 30 now going on 40 years ago... times have changed for all the "analyst" on his staff... maybe he fucked up in firing Kiffen before the game...
