Alabama Crimson Tide (official thread of Football, Fake Championships and Banjo)

Losing Sark is a hit. He would have been an upgrade on the already solid Freshwater.

Hurts would actually be a good fit for a Kelly/Helfrich offense. Hoping that doesn't happen, but knowing bammer's charmed existence, it probably will.

I could see Nick Saban and Chip Kelly mixing as well as gasoline in a car...and by in a car I mean you're trying to burn the getaway car to the ground so you douse it in gas and set it on fire.

Maybe Chip wants to know what it's like to hold up a trophy.
Who would have thought Saban/Kiffin would work? Somehow it did. Winning quells a lot of potential personality-related turbulence.

Kelly would likely be a one year rental until he moves on to his next HC-gig, but the idea of him coordinating a bammer offense with Hurts as the QB is a scary thought. If he wants a longer term answer and more stability on his staff, Helfrich might be the better answer. But I question how great a coordinator Helfrich is. He had diminishing returns each year as he lost more of Chip's players, and their offense was noticeably less potent when Frost left for UCF.

more likely they will have one inexplicably bad loss that will not be punished by the pollsters
Florida State has a decent shot but the SEC doesn't seem like it's going to be any better than it was last year. I can see Ole Miss beating them since Freeze clearly spike's the Tide's water coolers before each game. Bama rolls otherwise.

Really curious to see who Saban gets though.

No way Bama, gets Kelly. Kelly and Kiffin are at two completely different points of life. Kiffin was desperate and in need of any gig after his ouster at USC and debacle at Tennessee. Kelly is still seen as a big name in CFB circles and can get a HC gig at almost any school he wants. Kiffin limped off to FIU. Nowhere near the same comparison. Kelly also has the money to chill for a year and next year have his pick of high profile schools. And also, Kelly in no way wants to be working under anyone, let alone a dictator like Saban who won't even let his assistants talk to the media
