Alabama Crimson Tide (official thread of Football, Fake Championships and Banjo)

it's been said by rival coaches that this years group of assistant coaches are sub par. Maybe there's some truth in that.
Of course, like us, they did go 13-1 and it's still very, very hard to go undefeated.

Saban will "clean house" of those assistant's that didn't perform and maybe some "cancer' on the team. But there seems little doubt they have lost some of their "edge". Locksley may have been their best assistant and he's leaving.
I heard Tosh was their best assistant. At least recruiting wise he is

Sure, he can recruit but I'm not sold at all on Locksley as a head coach. He was a failure at New Mexico. Bob Davie was able to do(at New Mexico) what Locksley could not. Maryland should have kept Canada.

But you'd think this mentality would've taken hold after Saban won his 2nd or 3rd natty yet Alabama has kept on winning, adjusting, and grinding people into dust on the way to another 3 titles. I just think they weren't as good as they were led to be believed. Alabama teams are many things but I've never really seen them play entitled.

I think it's cyclical... they pound people into dust... the frosh and sophs grow a bit entitled and get beat.
Our game had a close score but only bc we dicked around so much in the 1st half. It should have been a 2-3 score game... their best player was a Punter.
The frosh and sophs see what it takes and kill it when their turn comes.
Then one class gets complacent again.... rinse wash repeat.
It's not a mistake that the media darling 'greatest ever' types are the ones that nose dive. This Bama team was touted as best ever all year... it got to their heads.
It was similar in '14 too. They were heralded as world beaters and were going to repeat... then a 3rd string QB took their manhood.

They just won 14 games, have another great recruiting class coming in, still have Nick Saban, and no one in the SEC can keep their shit together long enough to challenge them on a consistent basis.

As much as I would love to see these fucks immediately turn into Miami, any talk of their demise at this point is insane to me. Getting their asses kicked in one game by who some people think is the greatest QB prospect of all time is more than likely just an aberration in the grand scheme of things.

There's a pattern to it. He's repeated just once... it's hard to keep kids focused.

They will be back, play for more NCs, probably win more than not... but i wouldnt call it an abberation either.
