Not sure who gave the Ht/Wt/40 attributes looks like the picture was from his freshman year but:

he's 6'2" - 225 lbs
and ran a 4.82 at the NIKE combine in Cincinnati

but that being said, OSU has shown good interest in him, I think UC will offer him this spring.

He is also going to the NIKE Camp in Florida at the end of April.

But remember now kids...he is only a 15 year old sophomore right now. He's got 2 years left to wear the blue and gold...lets just hope he doesn't wear it 4 more years after HS. :(

Junior linebacker piling up offers

Linebacker Trey DePriest (Springfield, Ohio) is one of the top class of 2011 prospects in the Buckeye State. The 6-1, 215-pounder has been a varsity starter since the beginning of his freshman season.

DePriest, who made 75 tackles including four sacks during his sophomore season, already has scholarship offers from Michigan, West Virginia, Cincinnati and Central Michigan.

DePriest attended Ohio State's advanced camp June 14 and a Buckeye offer seems on the horizon.

Next up, DePriest plans to camp at Virginia Tech on July 11.

Nothing new but...he IS getting an OSU offer early and he loves the Bucks. I would expect a fairly early commitment. Great student and seems like a good kid. I will make sure to catch a game at Springfield sometime this year, preferably against Wayne.

That would be great. I know he has said in updates he grew up a michigan fan, so switing from the dark side is even better.

See Brandon Saine here...it is pretty tough to get a Buckeye offer in the GWOC and turn it down. scUM will get a look but I doubt he ends up anywhere but in Columbus.

This is a different situation from Saine all-together though. If I remember correctly, OSU was the very first school to offer Saine, they had been on him for awhile and built up a relationship before Michigan ever offered or got involved. If memory serves me correct here, Michigan offered him much later than Ohio State, and many a Michigan "insiders" and fans were cussing out Lloyd Carr on the message boards saying that he needed to get in on Saine and offer him asap.

I think DePriest got a Michigan offer before he got an OSU offer, and Rodriguez has been in on this one for awhile.

I'm not saying anything as to where he ends up. I'm just saying that I think this situation is a bit different, and that Rodriguez is going to make and has made DePriest a priority from very early on whereas Saine wasn't as big of a priority to Lloyd Carr.

That was the case with Saine but go check the thread, I was calling OSU all the way on him regardless of a scUM offer. Generally I can get some decent info locally. scUM did get in on him earlier than Saine but Trey loved his time at camp and seems thoroughly impressed with JT and the tradition at OSU...scUM was just a childhood favorite, which can sometimes play a reduced role and I see that happening here. I'm just saying it's similar in regards to Saine that he was a scUM fan growing up but ends up a Buckeye...add Chris Wells to that count as well. Of course things can change but OSU is sitting really well right now.
