One of the top five juniors in the state of Ohio, linebacker Trey DePriest (Springfield, Ohio/Springfield), plans to attend an Ohio State game for the second time this season. DePriest was in the Horseshoe when the Buckeyes played USC and will be back again on Saturday when the Buckeyes take on Illinois.

DePriest has over a dozen scholarship offers including Ohio State, Oklahoma, Michigan, Notre Dame, West Virginia, Cincinnati, North Carolina, Virginia Tech and Pitt. In addition to Ohio State this weekend, DePriest would like to attend games at Cincinnati and Michigan sometime this season.

From the UC site...says he has only been to OSU games because of proximity but he grew up a Michigan fan...visiting UC on 11/7 (UConn "blackout" game).

Matt James might be the one and only recruit that UC has a chance of beating out OSU for, and I don't see that happening either...I think that is a ND/OSU battle...but I guess the UC recruiting sites are riding the "flavor of the week" hype that UC has going for them (Coach Kelly's words...not mine) and has them thinking they have a shot at several recruits that they realistically don't have a chance with. OSU is always going to consistently beat out UC for the top players in the state.

I like how that Bearcat writer set up his article to shoot down the idea that OSU leads... That seemed to be more important to him than discussing Trey's interest in Cincy.

We don't lead for DePriest though. I can't think of anybody who would believe that right now.

SPRINGFIELD ? The long-discussed potential of Springfield?s combined talent had left players, parents, coaches and fans wondering for years.
Now they know.

The Springfield High School football team beat Northmont 21-18 on Friday, Oct. 9, leaving little doubt the Wildcats are an emerging football power.
