One widely expected move, for example, is that Washington State defensive coordinator Alex Grinch will go to Ohio State as the 10th coach. That’ll create a significant trickle down, and there will be many more like it.

Considering Thamel's connections to OSU, this seems as close to a done deal as possible.

Bucknuts has confirmed with three sources that Washington State defensive coordinator Alex Grinch will be joining Urban Meyer's staff at Ohio State, though in what position is unclear. And Cougfan.com has now confirmed the news with two well-placed sources in Pullman.

Probably co-dc/ safeties. Schiano would move entirely to dc and asst head coach and fully expect him to leave after 2018 season. Grinch is pretty young and may stick around for a bit.

Bill Davis is making $500k, as is Coombs. LJ Sr is only making 470k. The coordinators are making 650 & 700k.

I think it would be pretty easy to sign him up for $600k, as the DC in waiting when Schiano leaves.

This is amazing. Our coordinators should be in the 1 mil plus range. Obviously they don’t need it to bring in top coordinators, but it might get them to stick around another year or two. Feels like we replace a coordinator every 1-2 years. But. More importantly when we have guys like LJ Sr and Tony Alford and Coombs. These are guys that seem happy to be the best position coaches around and aren’t trying to use it as a stepping stone. Same for Zach smith and stud if that’s what they aspire to. Pay these guys. Don’t ever let them leave.
