By Site Staff
Date: Mar 2, 2005

The Browns are moving quickly to re-stock the roster with the type of players that they want. BerniesInsiders.com's Lane Adkins has independently confirmed a story from ESPN that eight-year NFL veteran Joe Andruzzi has signed a new contract with the Cleveland Browns.

The New England Patriots have a history of winning championships despite letting go of valued veterans. The Cleveland Browns are quickly establishing a reputation of taking advantage of the Patriots generosity.

Lane Adkins has confirmed a report broadcast within the last hour that New England Patriots offensive guard Joe Andruzzi has signed a deal with the Cleveland Browns.

Andruzzi is an eight-year NFL veteran, who has spent most of his career with the Green Bay Packers and New England Patriots. Despite a history of injuries (including a knee injury which knocked him off course a couple of seasons ago), Andruzzi became a key part of the Patriots offensive line.

Here is what Scout.com has to say about Andruzzi: "Joe Andruzzi is a tough physical player, with good hand placement, awareness and lower body strength. He lacks overall mobility and quickness, but is well-schooled and gets into position quickly. At times will struggle to reach the second line of defense, for which he will lunge and miss blocks. Andruzzi’s range and recognition of the defense has improved and he is a tireless worker."
Early reports suggest that the team and Andruzzi agreed to a four-year deal. We have not confirmed that detail as of yet, and will have additional information as we can confirm it.

This is a solid pick up for the Browns, its nice to see them start concentrating on their weakest area in my opinion.
