We've got to hang onto this tidbit, so when we once again see the "Our program's clean, no Miami player's been arrested since ...forever", we can toss this back.

This from a Grassy mod:

This board will not tolerate rumor-mongering in this case, or any other relating to current or potential Canes.

storm1926, there's only 1 'l' in Antrel, and no, he didn't swing on a police officer. Read the articles. The charge is resisting arrest <!--EZCODE BOLD START-->without violence<!--EZCODE BOLD END-->. All of you clowns spouting off self-righteous generalizations like, "no misunderstanding about hitting a cop," or whatever will cease and desist or be banned, period. Nobody hit a cop, at least not where Antrel Rolle was involved.

I'd love to share some of the details of what happened, but I can't. All I can say is listen to guys like NoahZach, and personally, I stake my own reputation on Antrel's. This was an overzealous cop trying to make an example of someone. Like I said, if you don't know the facts, don't throw out comments like "hitting/swinging on an officer." The charge is felonious rumor-mongering, and the penalty is immediate banning. We clear?

Go Canes
Only in Cane-land would it be considered "rumor-mongering" to even hint that a player charged with felony assault of a police officier might have hit a cop.

Read the Charge?

There were 3 charges you stupid ibis humping candy cane.

MIAMI · Miami Hurricanes cornerback Antrel Rolle was arrested Sunday and has been charged with a felony count of battery on a police officer and two misdemeanors.

Rolle, 21, also is charged with resisting an officer without violence and disorderly conduct, according to the Miami-Dade County clerk of courts Web site. No other details were immediately available.

I honeslty don't know if he took a swing at an officer or not... but... guess what... Felony Battery usually doesn't imply that he was participating in an anti-war sit in...

Battery could be something as simple as poking his finger in the cop's chest. But considering the fact that his father is a local police chief, it would be reasonable to assume that it was something a little more serious.

jesus christ these miami fans are rediculous. what does it say about your program when your message board has a damage control plan already in the works 'in case' your players do something stupid.

and all the idiot canes fans hanging their hats on the ones who say 'its all a misunderstanding' and instantly turn that into an anti-media anti-cop diatribe.....

i hate (most) miami fans.

Rolle, don't let this get you down, it could happen to any one of us.

I really can't argue with that.

Just read the Arrest Report and this wasn't a misunderstanding, Rolle was lucky the Police took it easy on him. Rolle was defending his car from strangers that were messing wiht him and got into a fight with the street people. The Cops told him to leave and he didn't.

Rolle is very lucky the Cops didn't charge him with more.

Dade County is the most corrupt county in the country, and the police have one of the highest tendencies for corruption for any profession...but it still doesn't add up (that he is guilt-free), considering his father is a local police chief.
