DT Antwuan Jackson (St. Louis Battlehawks)

DT recruiting is becoming quite the problem. For a couple years now.

Yeah it has been the only real substantial thorn in our side lately. Barrow is no doubt a great get and is a 5 star talent. But aside from him, we have been getting down to way too many Plan B, C, and D type guys at that position...and we got zero DTs in 2014. Really need to push to get a big commit before '16 but Jackson was our best (and likely only) shot. Good luck at Auburn sir.

“Antwuan could be a really good player,” Auburn defensive line coach Rodney Garner said in March. “He still has to get a better grasp on the type of effort and execution that it’s going to take to perform at this level. That’s been his biggest thing, just learning that, hey, you’ve have to be willing to strain. You have to be willing to get uncomfortable to be able to become a great player.

Maybe if he'd had a better coach...

TRANSFER DT ANTWUAN JACKSON'S APPEAL TO AUBURN DENIED, CALLS IT 'UNFAIR' THE TIGERS ARE BLOCKING HIM FROM TRANSFERRING TO OHIO STATE

Remember Antwuan Jackson? Of course you do. He was one of the handful of big fish defensive tackles out of high school that Larry Johnson failed to reel in from the recruiting pool.

A 4-star defensive tackle from Ellenwood, Georgia, Jackson elected to sign with Auburn in February 2016. He redshirted last season and now wants to play elsewhere. But the Tigers, beneath what they claim is their prerogative, say not so fast.

Jackson's appeal to Auburn to lift restrictions on his transfer was denied Friday. Auburn said he cannot go to any other SEC school, Ohio State, Mercer, or Georgia Southern. On Tuesday, Jackson unearthed nearly a two-week old tweet to express his displeasure.

Auburn doesn't want this because they know this is just what we need to take over that region.

If we have a former Auburn player who was a highly recruited player coming out of high school on our team he can give people real life testimony how TOSU is the right choice over a SEC staple.

Then once we steal one from that area the flood gates open.

So much for that little-known constitutional amendment that referenced owning people.

Oh, well. The South never was very fond of that one.
