any guitar players here?

WooHoo!! Just came into a little extra cash and I've decided it's time for a new geetar...It's going to be one of the two Les Paul Classics I posted below. The first is a Honey Burst and it is already in the store (it's actually a little lighter color than this picture). I've played it and it's a beauty. The second is a Vintage burst and the store has told me they will order one and once it arrives, I can decide between the two and pick which one I like best...Not sure how long a process this will be, but I will post pics once the new baby joins my collection...I am getting a very good price after having weaseled them down a little and telling them this will be cash money...I can't wait...

Oh man, I'm jealous... My goal is to get a Les Paul someday. Those both look sweet- congrats!

I've been playing for 25+ years. I have two "left handed" guitars. Left handed guitars are not as readily available as the traditional right handed instruments but worth the search.

Takamine - Blond color. Light wood. Plays well.
Guild - Red and Black color. Heavier wood. Real nice.

Really? A Vox? Never heard one (to my knowledge) I'll have to have a look see in to them... how do they compare price-wise?

So we're clear - I have never heard a Vox Amp, I have heard OF Vox.

I once played thru a MesaBoogie head and a Marshall 4X12.... MAN was that awesome!

Scarlet - is your Takamine an acoustic? (For all I know, that's all Takamine makes... just asking. Buddy has one, and it's got a nice sound. Much brighter tone than my Acoustic.)

The pics are links to Musician's Friend and I put the Vox Amplification link below as well...

Musician's Friend has the Fender '65 Twin Reverb listed at $1099...

The comparable (price-wise) Vox would probably be the AD120VTX listed at $1199...

Like I said, every Vox I've heard sounded great...Not sure what you're into but I'm assuming you like the vintage type tones...The vintage settings I've heard on the Vox sound great...It does modern tones very well also...It's definitely worth a test drive before you decide to dump that much cash. Don't be afraid of the brand name, these guys have been around forever, just like Marshall and Fender.

This is how impressed I was...I had never heard the Vox's either. I was in the music store 6 months ago or so and heard someone playing across the room...Not a particularly good player, but the amp sounded awesome. I expected to walk over and see him on a Fender or Marshall, but it was one of these "Valve Reactor" Vox's...I was instantly impressed and have since found (through my research) that those who own one can't believe how good they sound. Once I'm in the market for an amp again, the Vox will be the standard by which everything else will be compared...

Alright Les Paul lovers...I got the call today. I went and played both guitars back to back for a good A/B test. Both played great, but the Honey Burst just blew the other one away appearance-wise IMO. I've been playing the shit out of it for the last hour or so. I stopped long enough to get some pictures to post up. The 2nd pic is the most accurate color. The flash lightened up the color on the other pics quite a bit, but they do show the cool wood grain on this top...

Here it is..."Honey Burst Les Paul Classic" plain top...

Not long. A week or two max. But it is a bear waiting for them to form. Just keep playing every day and they'll toughen up quickly.

Yup...Depending on how much you're playing, I would think 2 weeks at the longest until they're calloused enough to not have any pain...Keep at it...

I have a 1973 Les Paul Standard (Tobacco Burst).

Man it is sweet. I'll have to get some pictures of it up here one day.

I'd really like to see it when you get a chance...
