Any idea on who we would be playing in the BIG TEN/ACC Tourney next year?

We finished in 6th place, so it would be their 6th place team.

Which would make it NC State, Maryland, or Miami (all were 7-9 and tied for 6th place), I'm not sure how their tiebreaker works. However, Miami was the 6th seed in their conference tournament.

I'll venture a guess that it will be Miami.

    Miami, that would be fun.

  5. I hope that we get them at our place.

They rotate the home and away. Since we played at Clemson this year (1 Dec 2004) we should get the ACC team at the Schott this fall.

  7. Thats good, but what if both teams had home or away games last year.

Man will Ill. at UNC be a great game to watch. The 1 and 2 team from the regular season this year.

Are you sure it's a direct match-up based upon the previous seasons finish? I don't recall them doing the past and I don't remember reading anything stating that was how they would decide matchups. I think they actually try to schedule based upon the predicted strength of that years team. This probably factors in the teams success the previous year in the regular season, any post season success, plus losses from graduation.

Since Duke was at home last year and OSU played at Clemson it's not impossible Duke would play here. Also their league is strong enough that Duke might project as 2nd or 3rd in the league. I wouldn't count on it though, since we played at Duke a few years ago and I think they try to rotate matchups somewhat. I think we've played Duke, NC St., Ga Tech, and Clemson so those teams might be unlikely. I'll guess Maryland.

  9. i was merely commenting how duke never plays out of their region.

a return trip home for gary williams makes a nice storyline

Maryland was the 6 seed in the ACC tourney this year fwiw.

  12. No they weren't. Because they played Clemson the 9th seed and lost to them. Miami was the 6th seed and N.C. state the 7th.

Web site I looked at had them 6th but I'll take your word for it if you watched the tourney.

  14. No Problem.

I also wonder what they are going to do with the addition of B.C.

Does anyone remember if Miami and Va Tech played in it this year after coming from the big East.
