Any other lefty's here?

Not that it really matters, but I'm always intrigued when I find out someone else is left handed considering only 13% of the population is. I have a huge family and only 3 out of 50-60 of us are lefties.

Also, a quick fun fact...it is said that one who is left handed has twice the odds of being a genius. Interesting no?

If you're as bored as I am right now, check out this impressive list of lefties. http://home.planet.nl/~mvdubois/lefthanders_en.html

Michelangelo, Newton, Piccasso, Einstein, Steve Bellisari just to name a few....very interesting.

So what happened to You? :wink2:

Anyway... I'm mostly not left handed.

I swing (Basball, Golf) "lefty" but do most other things right handed... I'm "Foot" ambidextrous... Does that count?

OH, I am by no means genius, but out of the 30-some 1st cousins we have, my lefty sis and I significantly outperformed the rest academically which is odd.

As for the other one who was left-handed (Dru)...well, we don't know what happened to him. He's 23 and would spell his own name wrong if you asked him to do it too fast. :)

I'm left handed, as I mentioned in the things you normally wouldn't admit to thread. I also have to say that my younger sister and I have outperformed all of our cousins academically, and both of us are left handed. Thing is, our older brother and sister are both right handed, and have also outperformed all of our cousins. I think that has more to do with the combined intelligence of our parents than anything else.

Didn't read the link, but I've always heard that lefties also have a shorter life span mostly do to accidents since the world is pretty much set up for the righties.

Anyway, I was a switch-hitter in baseball, but that's the extent of my left-handedness except for....well, I'll leave that to the imagination.

I do have a question though. Were you a good athlete? Every lefty I grew up with were very good athletes and I just wondered if that is also like the "genious" thing.

Left handed wife, one boy who will be a rightey and it is up in the air with our other son. My wife is glad our older son is right handed because I can teach him how to throw a ball, swing a bat, etc. Her dad taught her by telling her to do the opposite of what he was doing. Needless to say, she cannot throw a ball to save her life.

I don't know that it has anything to do with the genius thing, but I have pretty much been an athlete my entire life. I wouldn't say I was exceptional, but I played just about everything and I excelled a bit at football (cornerback). Definitely the most athletic in my family (luckily). The other two lefties in my family happen to be the 2nd and 3rd most athletic of my generation....and it's funny because I never thought of it that way.
