Any Thoughts on the ex-Redshirts?

Actually Hoobler did get a few plays as linebacker. It was hard to really tell if he was effective but he did have 1 tackle on the afternoon. I think they did ok. Rhearing was the only player that got substantial PT. From everything I have heard or read Steve did a nice job.

I saw that 46 out there and got worried Pagac got another year of eligibility.

Yeah, and Johnson actually ran the ball once as well.

I saw he got those 2 late carries. It is nice to throw the blocking backs a bone every now and again...

As blufftonbuck said, Dionte carried the all twice late in the game. On consecutive carries up the middle against a stacked DL, he got a total of nine yards...he looked good as he blasted into the line and kept his legs driving both times.

You're right. I thought I saw 1 carry in the stat column. Double checked it and it says 2.

Nice quote from Johnson (Gotta love that last name) over on the O-Zone.

"My goal was just to knock somebody over, set some heads back, make people lay back on their toes and think about when they're coming up," said Johnson.

I focused quite a bit on Johnson, and honestly thought he was better than Schnittker already. He only really got blown up on one play. Threw some real nice blocks and had two nice carries. Johnson was a fullback in high school, instead of the converted tailbacks like Joe and Schnittker were (I think...).

Hoobler was in at LB late in the game. That kid has a little Matt Wilhelm in him. He's gonna be a player. Hopefully he's learning a lot from the guys in front of him.

Saw a good pic of Rehring after Pittmans TD in the fourth and that guy just dwarfed the other 6 players around him! If we can get him to play with a mean streak he will be a good one for a couple of years.

Johnson is going to be a good one. That much I know. Beyond that I didn't see anything that wowed me. I am glad that their are going to be more people pushing to play.

I just wish it would not have taken a 3 game losing streak for Tress to play some of these young kids. I mean if you can help the team now forget the redshirt, don't play for tomorrow but better late then never...
