Anyone capable of discussing gas without politics? Anyone?

It is in the $1.80 range here, Louisiana, also.

What you pay has much more to do with taxes than the cost of the refined gas. Refineries are scattered throughout the US.

Gas is gas, the gas and your car's engine do not know the name brand. In some cases some engines do require a higher octane. Try the lower octane stuff and if your do not hear valve pinging under heavy acceleration you shoud be fine.

Just on my way to work this morning I passed a F-150 Super Cab with 4 Mexicans in both the front and back seat of the cab and another 5 in the bed.

When you carpool like that to work, you're bound to save some $ on gas.

I was in Dallas all last week and this was a common site.

I saw one white guy in the front of a F-250 crew dually with about 6 mexicans in the bed. None of them sat in the passenger or back seat.

Oh yeah it was a diesel.

State gas taxes have a lot to do with the difference in prices between areas. What I can't figure out is how come we have such high gas taxes and such shitty roads when a portion of that money is to keep the roads up...

I hope you got a great deal.:)

I have read in the WSJ that SUV inventories are at an all time high on dealers lots due the gas price. Toyota, Hummer and Ford are all discounting their trucks and SUV's to get sales going. What a trade off, get a couple thousand dollars off your vehicle but maybe pay that much additional a year in gas. My truck is a gas hog but it is paid for and I will drive it until the wheels fall off.

After you spend some time in your vehicle driving a car will feel cramped and appear that you are sitting on the ground.

I was just picking up paperwork there. My father and one of my brothers live in New Concord though.

Bucknola: I actually did get a really good deal on the SUV I bought but I'm probably spending an extra $40 or more on gas every month. I still wouldn't my Sable back though.
