To open up another direction, I'd love to get an Apple Powerbook G4, I just can't make myself feel entirely comfortable giving up the option of running Windows-based software.

From a graphical and web development standpoint, seems like a vastly superior platform. But I find myself chained to Intel and Microsoft.

Well there are apps that allow you to run Windows based apps on the Mac..

however, that said, I will NEVER own an Apple computer. Not until it suits my full needs as a full computer platform.

While the apple machines may run multimedia stuff well, and image editing stuff well.. how well can you run Doom 2 on your G4? How about Halo2? Will that be available on an Apple platform?

That's my biggest gripe.. that and their commercials make me want to violently vomit while committing suicide just after i shit myself with diahrea on the night of Satan's coming to stamp 666 on my forehead.

Sounds a little bit overboard to me. Maybe you should try changing channels during commercials. Sounds like it'd be better for your health.
