Anyone need a new Dell laptop?

Dell laptops are POS's. My company gave me one for work years ago, they're starting to replace them with more Dells...they're charging $1100 a system, and they're not even dual core. I paid $1000 on Ebay for a quad core gaming laptop a month ago, hell, my wife's laptop is faster than what they're going to be replacing mine with. You can get a decent dual core from Best Buy at $700 or less these days, Dell is taking my company for a ride.

My wife used to have a Dell too, until her sister tried picking the thing up by the monitor and cracked the screen. I tried replacing the screen, but even after I installed it the thing had video problems so I didn't want to screw with it anymore. Thats when I gave her my 3 year old gaming laptop and upgraded.

We're both using Toshiba Qosmio laptops now. They're lightning fast and will handle any software out there right now. They're bulky for some people, but they are desktop replacements essentially. I don't mind, I've got an 18" screen which works for me :)

Buckeyebri, I had three really good Dell laptops in the last decade. Ohio State did a study in 2000 and found that Dell was the most reliable manufacturer, so I tend to believe that they had great quality. Then there was the meltdown at Clarity's, but my Dell's kept doing fine.

I bought a new Dell laptop recently. I had to fight with them to get Dell to honor their next day on-site warranty. I got them to replace virtually every component without any luck. Eventually, they replaced the machine and the new machine is really fine. I think the problem was the keyboard was sending random errors.

Anyway, here's something to check. Dell moved its European manufacturing to Poland from Ireland. Perhaps your machine is one of the Polish machines. Mine was. If the hardware diagnostics don't sort out the problem, insist that they replace the machine.

So Dell replaced my Laptop and I got the new one on Thursday. I didn't have any time since then to work on it, aside from a little software setup.

This morning Windows does an automatic update and sure enough as soon as it reboots BLUE SCREEN.....Fucking A...

It looks like tmcomm.sys may be the culprit. Any advice from anyone?

tmcomm.sys is Trend Micro. Maybe something similar to this:
