Anyone see the halftime show last night?

Fired up! Ready to go!
Did anyone see that hideous display of music "talent" last night at the Orange Bowl? Ashlee Simpson is really horrible (I've never heard her cackle until last night)!!! I actually had to put the TV on mute. For those of you who so sadly missed it, here's a pretty comical review of it on Salon.com:

Oh, my. I've been to karaoke Tuesday at Big Jim's Trucketeria, friends, and I've never seen anything like this. Sweetheart, pick a key. Learn a move or two. Try lip-synching. Oh, wait, never mind that last one. It was a staggering display of incompetence matched only by the Oklahoma secondary. I can't remember ever seeing a performer so devoid of singing ability, stage presence, looks or anything else anyone not related would want to see twice.

When Simpson's song mercifully ended, the crowd united in booing. Sooners and Trojans, fat cats and cheap seaters, locals and tourists, 77,912 strong, they found one thing all night they could agree on: Boo!

It was great. Then the football players came back, the butt-kicking resumed, and it got kinda boring. Ashlee Simpson, superstar, is a tough act to follow. She won't be around much longer. I'm going to miss her.

My friends and I all busted out laughing when she got booed at the end of her performance, and Nessler was about to say something and then stuttered, probably because he was a bit off because he was getting a cue to start his line a little earlier to try and take some of the attention away from Pro Player Stadium booing Simpson off the stage.

Why do they even put on these "shows" anyway? It's the Orange Bowl, a football game, for God's sake. People don't go, or tune in, to see Ashley fuckin' Simpson lip-synch. Halftime should go to the schools' bands. I turned the channel as soon as the half was over, because I knew I wouldn't be able to watch that.

The other thing I didn't want to watch was the riveting, insightful commentary of ABC's three college football stooges. Craig James is a dork, Aaron Taylor is a fucking idiot (who cares what you have to say, man?), and John Saunders just wishes he was about 25 years younger so he could say "Boo-yah" and not look like a silly old man.

Trev and Mark own Aaron Taylor and whoever you would pair with him, and that is sad. Ashlee Simpson should interview for Taylor's job after her 19-55esque halftime performance sinks in.

I thought all three sounded bad. The stadium did a horrible job of mixing at the sound board. Some of the backup singers and the guitars were drowning out the main act.
and you believe this was a bad job? I'd guess it was an attempt to adapt and overcome
