apologies to those in attendance

considering the bitterness of the rivalry, i think things were pretty civil saturday among the fans. i'm sure a few people have a story about being treated poorly. that happens everywhere. but all in all i think UM fans are pretty respectful.

i would, however, like to apologize to those seated in the endzone who were taunted by some of the crowd who charged the field. kinda classless, i admit. charging the field is cool (imo). celebrating with the team is cool (imo) but when the crowd started to gather in front of the tOSU section, i knew something stupid was about to happen. sorry fellas.

good game.

Nice post.

You seem to be a perfectly reasonable contributor, even if it's just going to be when "The Game" approaches each year, I'm still happy to change your nick for you if and when you like. Not that what you have is bad in of itself. I mean, I got mine the same way you did, just wanted to reinforce a point on a single post 3 years ago, and kept it from there.

You really can't expect anything else from drunken students. It happens everywhere. I agree with oh8ch. An entire group of recruits that were visiting scUM for the game was heckled pretty badly by the student section before the game because one had on an Eddie George jersey. I wonder how they felt? BTW, Ginn was also rockin the Scarlet & Gray.

We all have fellow fans we'd rather not be associated with.

I'm with Oh8ch on this one (per the norm), the families will remember this, and because of that, the players will too. Neither side ever needs extra motivation for this game, but a little more next year shouldn't be a bad thing for us in the Shoe.

I don't know if everyone watched Gameday beforehand, but I thought Kirk really nailed it then (despite the action between Gamble and Edwards). He said the rivalry is different for players (current and former) and the fans. Mutual respect between the players, almost a fraternity with guys that played at OSU and Michigan. It's the fans that get nasty about it usually and take it to a new level.

When I rag on Michigan with "scUM", "weasels", etc., it's coming from humor not hate (I only really 'hate' scUM for one day a year), but there's no question there are folks on both sides that take it to an extreme. The people on the field taunting the OSU fans would seem to fall into that group.
