Hmm ... without seeing what all it can do I'm going to say it's over-engineered. Too many bells and whistles to integrate with the phone, which runs counter to Apple's identity of making products that are attractive because of their simplicity.
Tech companies have been marrying the phone to the PDA for almost a decade now, and they're still not successful. Consumers seem to be pretty clear that these hybrid devices are NOT what they want.

I give up. This board is too hard to understand.
looks cool but $499 for the 4G and $599 for the 8G is too much for me... I love gadgets and electronics but the cell phone is one thing I hate.

First, and foremost, it ain't cheap (duh); $499 for a 4 GB model and $599 for the 8 GB model. Second, its offered only on Cingular. It runs OSX, and does a whole shit-ton of things. Think of it like a geeky swiss army knife. Its an ipod and its a phone, but thats like the least it can do. No point in typing it up here, just follow the link.
