Just watched the first 3 episodes of season 12 that I had taped. They get back to their roots of being secret agents/spies, etc. So far it's one of their best seasons, unfortunately season 12 is only listed for 7 episodes.

Just watched the final Archer episode (taped from last night).

'Archer' Series Finale Trailer Teases the Return of an Old Foe

Kayvan Novak's Fabian will return for the final episode of the long-running spy series starring H. Jon Benjamin, Aisha Tyler, and Judy Greer.

Archer Goes Out With a Bang (and a Big Twist) — Read Series Finale Recap

archer-series-finale-ending.jpg

After 14 seasons of bawdy spy hi-jinks, Archer is calling it quits — but the FXX comedy managed to deliver one final twist on the way out.

If you haven’t watched in a while, here’s a quick update: Lana is running the spy agency now after the departure of Malory (voiced by the late Jessica Walter), and the agency has a sassy new British spy, Zara Khan, played by Natalie Dew. Other than that, it’s pretty much business as usual in Thursday’s series finale, with Archer and his pals springing into action when a fleet of killer drones start murdering ex-IIA employees. Yes, that’s the agency they all used to work for, so they’re kind of motivated to find out who’s behind this. And that means they need the help of their slimy ex-boss Fabian, voiced by What We Do in the Shadows’ Kayvan Novak.

After 14 seasons and 142 episodes this it it.

Edit: However there was a "blurb" during the last episode that said "watch out for a special announcement on Archer this Friday at New York's Comic Con".

FX's Archer Will Go Out With a Three-Part Bang

Since 2009, Archer has been a reliable (sometimes award-winning) staple of adult animation and FX’s larger TV lineup. Having gone through multiple reinventions and status quo changes, it’s almost hard to imagine the show actually ending—which it did just a few days ago.

Only...not really. During the show’s New York Comic-Con panel on Friday, FX revealed that the show will get one last hurrah in the form of Archer: Into the Cold, which will be the show’s for real finale. Things will pick up right where things left off at the very end of season 14: the United Nations declared that all private espionage agencies illegal, including the Agency that Archer (H. Jon Benjamin), Lana (Aisha Tyler), and their group have been working for since season 11. While it’s not the first time the Archer gang’s been made unemployed—it’s happened a lot throughout the show’s 14-season run—this is one firing they don’t intend to take lying down.

Into the Cold will run across three episodes into what’s being called a “finale event.” Multi-parters have been in the show’s DNA for a long time, so it’s only fitting that it gets to go out on its own terms with a trio. At time of writing, it’s unclear if creator Adam Reed will have any creative involvement in these episodes; he wrote nearly every episode for the first 10 seasons (either on his own or with other writers) before departing the show in a showrunner capacity, while continuing to voice Ray Gillette.

Archer: Into the Cold will air December 17 on FX and FXX (where it’s been since 2017), before moving to Hulu the following day.
