Associate HC/DL Coach Larry Johnson Sr. (Official Thread)

Real question is how much longer he will coach before retiring.
There have been several high-level defense coaches who have continued into their 70s and maintained their abilities. With Johnson being 67, I'd like to think he could continue at his present level for at least another five years, provided it's what he wants to do. Fortunately it doesn't appears his love for coaching has diminished.

Two words - Dick LeBeau. Highly effective coach in the NFL until he was 80. Not a bad DB either.

Give him a lifetime extension, a bonus, and let him leave on his terms. Keep him as long as he has the desire to coach. He looks like he still has plenty of passion and fire to recruit and coach up these guys. As long as there is some succession plan so the negative recruiting doesn't start up again like it did 2 years ago when there were rumors floating that he was nearing retirement.
