After watching USC get some real love from the refs and struggle mightily with a great MAC team like Oregon for a while I believe that ND will knock them off.

My real hope is that ASU will do it because they are kind of like my second favorite team because I love that town, Tempe, so much. It's just great out there and they treat you like a king. Wish they would've beaten LSU, too.

Anyway. I was just watching the Oregon game and the thought that ND would definitely not fold like Oregeon kept crossing my mind. They won't be satisfied to have led them for a little bit. Oregeon seemed to have had a little accident in their drawers after they started winning. They had several other opportunities to stick it to SC early but essentially, it comes down to their defense sucking.

Didn't see the game so I am going from the stats. If having your QB throw for 300+, two RBs go for over 100, and shutting your top 25 ranked opponent down after the first quarter - all on the road - is your off game you are pretty solid. A bit better than OSU did vs. a sieve called SDSU at home.

USC is for real.

Neither.

USC rolls all season.

I would love to see tOSU get a shot but I will not go so far as to predict victory. Texas could give them a game, but I'm not sure anyone can score with them...except maybe VTech, but they have a gauntlet to run first.

That would be a classic, but if I can quiet my Buckeye spirit long enough to listen to my head our best chance of finishing as high as possible in the polls is to end up either ranked or playing #3 in the bowl, and then finish #2 after we win and USC disembowels their Rose Bowl opponent.

I haven't seen a team this unbeatable since Miami in 2002.

My thought pre season was that Arkansas, Oregon and ASU might not be able to upset USC but maybe the cumlative effect of 3 semi-tough teams in a row might do it.

Now I'm not so sure..they are pretty damn good but no one is unbeatable.

I don't see a loss, really. Leinart would have to stub all his toes dancing or something for the offense to have an off day, and even then they'll just give it to Bush. Hard to see a loss, but I remember ASU pasting Nebraska after their long win streak, so I think that's the best chance.

Oregon was working them at the beginning.

Oregon has no D but managed to pick Leinart in their own Endzone to set up their first TD.

Oregon is awful and should have 3 losses right now as they were outplayed versus Houston and Fresno State.

I watched the USC game. If they had to play a team with a real defense it could be interesting. They ran up all their stats at the end.

It's just a perfect storm brewing for SC. All this media hype is going to get to them sooner or later. How many times do I have to hear Fouts and Keith Jackson talk about Leinart's new beard, new dance class and "real nice" girlfriend. They're so far up his and Bush's ass they can tell you what they're eating before a bit is taken.

from CFB news:
What to take away from this game: There's no shame in getting blown out by USC, but the Ducks have to wonder what would've happened if they had gotten touchdowns instead of two field goals early. The running game never got going against the Trojans with the spread offense turning into a pure passing attack when it had to try to move the ball. The biggest key will be to put this loss in the past with three road games in the next four weeks before hosting Cal. This disappointing loss can't start a slide.

Don't forget UCLA. They may have the best defense left on USC's schedule along with Fresno State. If anyone is going to beat them I think it might be one of those two teams. I don't see ASU's defense being good enough to hold them to under 40 points, which is what a team would have to do.

Some of you are so stubborn. And I love it.

Anyway, I dont see anybody beatin them. If they come out and really lay an egg (which a bunch of great teams have done in the past), then anybody can beat them. But if they play ball, I dont see anybody touchin them. Still would like a crack at them though.

I will say one thing.........USC really uses it's money well. :)

Don't forget when we were "for real" and MSU caught us napping at home to destroy a national championship. I also think they will run the table but....comes a time...

True Steve, falling asleep at the wheel can happen to any team.

Of course, that eventuality becomes more likely if the head coach is a Cooper rather than a Carrol.

I'd pin my hopes now on Weiss, South Bend and Notre Dame.
