LB Steele Chambers (Official Thread)

Finalists for the Mr. Georgia Award, presented to the top senior in Georgia, are: RB Steele Chambers (Blessed Trinity), QB Dylan Fromm (Warner Robins), RB Jamious Griffin (Rome), WR Jadon Haselwood (Cedar Grove), ATH Jammie Robinson (Lee County) and DE Mataio Soli (Douglas County).

Would the Georgia Touchdown Club give the award to a non- UG recruit?

Rivals - Chambers lays out plans'

Being visited by Coach Day next week & will take a second official visit to Ohio State in January. Won't be visiting elsewhere.

New NCAA rule states you can take a second official visit to a school if a head coach change occurs.
I can see Day closing this one down and keeping Chambers. Still wondering where he plays, but that's a good problem. He is easily good enough for D or O. But I wonder if the backfield will get filled pretty quickly in the coming years with Teague, Snead, Crowley, possibly Chambers, and 1-2 2020 RBs. IMO Chambers can see the field and have a clearer shot at the NFL playing LB.

Kurelic: When Harrison decision was made; Chambers the RB; more

1) Roswell (Ga.) Blessed Trinity running back Steele Chambers signed with the Buckeyes onWednesday morning. He had previously told me he was going to sign with the Buckeyes on Dec. 19, but wasn’t going to announce it publicly because he is going to be part of a signing ceremony with his teammates on National Signing Day in February. I checked again with Chambers on Tuesday night and he again said not to say anything publicly about him signing the next morning.

However, on Wednesday morning Ohio State football tweeted that Chambers was one of their signees. Chambers then messaged me that Ohio State had tweeted him as part of their signings. And that was no problem to Chambers.

“I think (they) needed to get it on record for numbers and (it) would have gotten out anyway,” Chambers said. “It’s no big deal. The February event is just for the community and my parents.”

Chambers committed to Ohio State in the spring, but after Urban Meyer announced his retirement, Chambers wanted to talk to Ryan Day before actually signing with the Buckeyes. Chambers did talk to Day and the deal was sealed for the Buckeyes. Day and Ohio State running backs coach Tony Alford had breakfast with Chambers on Dec. 13 and then Chambers, Day and Alford went to Blessed Trinity High School so that Day and Alford could talk with the Blessed Trinity football coaches. Day had not previously met Chambers’ coach. At the end of those talks it was a done deal, Chambers would be signing with the Buckeyes.

Chambers and his teammates defeated Cartersville (Ga.) 23-9 in Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta on Dec. 12 to win the Georgia AAAA state championship. Chambers rushed for 100 yards on 22 carries and also was key on the defensive side of the ball as Blessed Trinity’s middle linebacker was out and Chambers had to take his place and made six tackles including one for loss.

Buckeye fans who watch the All-American Game in San Antonio on Jan. 5 may see a little bit of everything from Chambers. He is listed as an “athlete” for the game and has been told he might be used at multiple positions during the game. Chambers is also playing in the Polynesian Bowl and is listed as a running back for that game.

Chambers is signed to Ohio State 100% as a running back and he is already learning the OSU playbook as a running back. And even though he is not an early graduate, he plans to hit the ground running (no pun intended) as soon as he arrives at Ohio State in early June as he makes his bid for playing time as a true freshman.

Chambers is a 4-star prospect in the 247Sports Composite. He is the country’s No. 240 overall prospect, the No. 10 athlete and the No. 26 prospect in Georgia.

I didn't look at Chambers too closely since he was already in but dang!

You see a lot of successful highschool RBs running through gaping holes and running away from people. Not really the case here. He gets incredible runs with his cuts in the hole and outstanding feet! I'd love to see him tote the rock in our system.
