Attention all Hiring Managers or Team Leaders

OCBuckWife

I am the evil monkey in your closet
I am beginning to shop around my resume. I have a job and am not in dire straits but am disliking where the new owner is projecting my job to be in 6-12 months. I have redone my resume recently with a specific goal of finding a position as an Executive Assistant to a Chief Technical Officer or Administrative Assistant to an Engineering department, Development team, NOC team, etc. I have some technical computer knowledge that allows me to be able to follow a tech conversation to a degree, to anticipate needs specific to a technical team, and how to keep a hard working, tempermental, tech geek safe, happy and warm.

If you are someone who has experience evaluating a resume response to a job posting, actually hiring someone, or a tech geek who knows what you might want from someone who will help keep you fed, help keep Lusers off your back unless it is really important, and can book your flights to technical conferences for you, PM me to ask to look at my resume.

I am not looking for a job, not asking anyone here for a job, I would just like some "stranger" opinions on the resume itself. I have my thoughts and assorted friends and professional friends opinions, I would like to get some "cold call" ideas as well.

No personal information will be included on the resume.

Thanks in advance.

Are you willing to relocate to my basement? I offer rent-free living, I'll provide food, booze, and smokes, as well as a $50 per month stipend. As a perk, I have recent switched from cold metal handcuffs to the far more comfortable fuzzy handcuffs.

PM if interested.

After today, I need to do some serious research into california labor laws, unemployment denial rules and suing a company for said denial. I may not have a job next week because I can't fulfill the expanded duties of my job as currently outlined by my new owner. Cripes today sucked. He really is nuts. Throwing things across his office, kicking things, screaming at us all to leave him alone...wowzer. Bipolar much?

I am very sorry to hear your news.

Now is far from the time to get into a toxic business relationship with a demented manager.

Questions:

Is there a way ALL of you can approach his superior and get the fire turned where it needs to go, at his feet?

Are you under the impression that this loony will be making a list and checking it twice to see whose been "naughty" and thus will get a pink slip?

Impressions:

Now may be the best time to make your exit move (pending the results of suggested palace revolt).

Of course, such exit demands having a clear plan for exit.

Make notes, abusive behavior, any comments of an uncivil kind - possibly actionable. In other words arm yourself.

On Unemployment Contests:

It is my understanding that few employers do more than go through the motions of contesting unemployment (if it should, sadly) come to that. You may have to write a letter outlining your contest to their contest, but unless you have done something actionable they likely have no leg on which to stand.

Last:

Good luck, chin up, Stiff Upper lip and all those cliches.

Or, more to the point, look out ofr number one and nail the bastard.

He is the sole owner as of Jan. 1st. His wife acts as some kind of VP and the HR rep and payroll rep as well so chain of command is pretty much single branched.

Absolutely, he already admitted as much in a separate talk.

Absolutely, and I have been documenting his actions and what he tells me for all of March. I have an email he wrote me that has a personal opinion about me that not favorable included in it.

I haven't heard about it ever being denied terribly often for what I think he might try, and I am prepared to go the distance if he were to do so. He has to have a pretty good excuse for firing me to deny UI but he is just such a damn LOOON I am preparing for a fight just because it seems right up his alley. His wife fights with a maintenance company every week, for about 45 minutes each time, over what amounts to about a hundred bucks. It's not even worth the lost man hourse in my opinion. LOOOOON.

ABSOLUTELY and thanks. :wink2:

Well, I had thought about asking you to send me your resume. However, seeing as how you appear not to want to work for a demented toxic manager sociopath, perhaps another opportunity would be a better fit ...
