Awesome. I like Pro-Style QBs, but it just doesn't seem to fit what Meyer tries to do.

He let the non pro style QB go to LSU so hopefully you're wrong. Also Day brought some nice RPO concepts into the offense last year

sparcboxbuck What happened to my ¤cash?

I think, as much as anything, this is a sign that he's willing to build teams around coaches. I'm wondering how much of this is a signal that Day is looking long term?

The run element will always be there. It’s just not the defining aspect anymore.

And, as always, take the best possible player you can at the most important position on the field.

If it’s Haskins one year and then Martell the next, fine.

Just don’t constantly look for round or square pegs. Adapt to either.

Besides, it’s been well documented how to stop the old Meyer system and I think he knows it.

Did he just learn that after last year? Because it didnt seem like a lesson learned while Barrett was at the helm...

First, I do think our offense is moving more towards having a pro-style QB at the helm. Haskins is the most pro style guy we've had and I definitely agree that you just have to take Martell based on his skill, he was one of the more dynamic HS QBs I have seen (plus his passing was very undervalued, the QB experts actually really like his passing skills in HS). Miller is definitely a pro-style guy, but he is not a statue either. His freshman year, he ran for 831 yards and averaged 9 yards a carry. I think Miller is plenty athletic and will fit nicely with what we are trying to do.

Cardale was quite the Pro style QB as well, just not used properly. With Day, Haskins may see the success that Cardale didn't because we have an OC to utilize his strengths and not force him into an offense that's not his style. Martell will be the wildcard in this QB room, because even with Baldwin in the fold, and Miller coming in, he's now the odd duck in the room full of pass first QBs.
And Jack's film shows some big runs and legs that can keep plays ongoing while avoiding sacks. But his accuracy has more intrigued about him when he gets to Cbus more than anything else. With the weapons coming in, he just needs to find them accurately and this offense will be deadly

Watched some of the game, Miller looked good and he was clutch even after taking a few nasty hits because his right tackle was like the equivalent of having Chaz Green of the Dallas Cowboys if you can imagine that...with that said if he was given consistent time he would have been an absolute surgeon out there, his walkoff TD pass to win the game was absolute money.
