Bijan Robinson (RB Texas Longhorns)

Alford really needs to get in gear.. if we lose both RB recruits this week after leading for them heavily that's very concerning to say the least.

We cannot strike out this class. Cannot.
Well...I both agree and disagree. Alford has landed some good Backs and has done a great job with them. Let’s keep in mind that he landed Snead and has no control over that messy situation. JK, Snead, Teague, Crowley, is a pretty dang good RB room. Alford really can’t control a kid saying he wants to stay home so his family can watch him play.

Now, if Bijan goes to Texas and we lose Knighton to FSU, I’d start to worry a bit. But if Bijan goes to AZ and we land Knighton, I am not concerned about Alford at all.

Exactly... with Robinson out that has to help us with Knighton.

I just don't understand Robinson though. Texas is still hours away from AZ and he was all OSU for months. Now he switches right before? That doesn't make sense. Sort of like changing an answer on a test right before you turn it in, and from experience that rarely turns out well.

I don't know why Oregon is on Gerdeman's list. They made it to the 2014 NC game with a 5-star RB (Thomas Tyner).

Tony could also have listed a few other schools who signed a 5-star RB since 2006, namely Alabama (seven 5-star RBs, five NCs) and a bunch of other NY6/playoff programs (Georgia, Florida State, Auburn, Oklahoma, Louisiana State, Southern Cal).

Some of those 5-star RBs: Derrick Henry, T.J. Yeldon, Trent Richardson, Dalvin Cook, Leonard Fournette, Joe Mixon, Nick Chubb, Sony Michel....

This is a big loss.

What's strange about this particular "flip" is that the entire football recruiting community was pretty much unanimous on Robinson. You normally hear rumblings about a recruit having second thoughts like this so close to an announcement, but legit every single source had BR locked in to OSU. The only slightly similar situations that I can remember are recruitments of Darnay Holmes and Baron Browning. Even then those recruits weren't really considered locks.

Not a good day for Buckeye fans for sure. Knighton spending 2 days @FSU right before he makes his decision and now a supposed call that has Bijan not 100% with Ohio State.

Some low blows right before they are set to commit for sure. Even if they would end up committing, I wouldn't be 100% sold they stick if all the information is accurate.

RB is by far the easiest position to plug and play with premium young talent - see: Dobbins *checks notes* two seasons ago.
FIFY

Dobbins was the #46 overall prospect in the country, with a 97.91 rating on the 247 composite. I don't see another Dobbins to "plug and play" into this offense.

EDIT: And Dobbins averaged 4.6 ypc last season, not exactly what you're looking for from a lead back.

There’s still plenty of uncommitted talent at the RB position. I’m not even worried about it. I’d rather go after more LB and D line

Corners ... we need corners. Should have been the #1 priority given our depth at the position. We're 2 NFL draftees/injuries away from being in serious trouble at that position.

Can't count on a Ricks flip and I think we honestly need atleast 3 in this class just to be safe.
