B1G CCG: THE Ohio State University vs NW’ern: Sat, Dec. 19 in Indianapolis, Noon on Fox

Why do so many people insist on spelling gray as “grey?” Like fucking limey wannabees, dishonouring their heritage?
OSU splits the difference on their own Football Traditions page:

SCARLET AND GREY
Ohio State’s official school colors since 1878, Scarlet and Gray were chosen by a group of three students in a lecture room in University Hall because “it was a pleasing combination…and had not been adopted by any other college,” noted selection committee member Alice Townshend Wing.

Unban evanstoncat for champ game? I'm sure he'll earn a new ban before the game is played.

I can't tell. I've been banned from every Buckeye message board on the internet.

Not only do they lie and cheat, but they have such thin skin. An actual error message from Buckeye Planet:

You have been banned for the following reason: Pathetic crybabies we don't need. Have a great life rooting for a loser

Zinc,
I have refereed soccer since 1978. In my early years, I worked with two English guys, who did not have much good to say about each other. One got into a conversation where the other one was mentioned and said of him, "Oh, that Limey Bastard!" It brought the house down.

Feels weird having the B1G title game as a noon kickoff. Guess 2020 is a weird year though.

Yeah, right? Not sure why they wouldn’t do this prime time.

Also weird is not being in Indy for the game. Have had a hell of a lot of fun over this run from ‘14 forward. I’m going to miss seeing a bunch of you all this year. ‘21 it will have to be.

Was just texting my buddy from Columbus that comes in each year about this. Very weird not planning this trip. Especially when I’m 0.9 miles away from the game.

We got a lot of lost time/drinks to make up with a folks next year.

To the Indiana people who complain, do they also complain when the World Series doesn't go all 7 games when a team has 4 wins in 4-6 games? Because that's the logic they are trying to use.
Kind of the opposite. I believe they’re upset that the rules were changed after the fact. This is a completely reasonably thing to be upset about. They got hosed. It’s obviously the best thing for the conference and great for us, but changing the rules specifically to accommodate a single team is what plainly happened here.

Once again, the 6-game minimum rule was atrocious. If Indiana had been unable to play the Penn State and Rutgers games earlier, the 6-game rule would have allowed either Rutgers, Sparty, or Penn State (all of whom would be 2-4 right now) to clinch the spot in the CCG this week. If we were in that situation, would fans of those schools be whining about the revision of the rule? Ok, yeah, Pedsters would be whining.

Also, if 17 league games total were cancelled, a team needed 6 games. Once the 18th game was cancelled, the minimum dropped to 3. Completely ridiculous. They simply could have said a team needs to be within two games of the league average, regardless of rounding. Although a prevalence of cancellations in one division could still have created an awkward scenario.

The Conference needs to be much more careful, and identify potential nightmare scenarios ahead of time, before agreeing to any rules like that in the future.
