I was looking for something else and came across this gem.

Does anyone still think Hairball is the second best HC in the B10?

I can never get him over 4th.

Urban
Dantonio
Franklin

After that no one has done much. You do realize that it has been 5000 days since SCum has won a B10 title. He has poached someone else QB so lets see if he can do something this year.

Paul Chryst ranks above him IMO

My take today...
- Urban is an excellent recruiter, good gameday, and excellent at finding good assistants to develop the talent.
- Dantonio is a mediocre recruiter, great gameday, great at developing talent.
- Franklin is a very good recruiter, mediocre gameday.
- Chryst is mediocre recruiter, good gameday, great at developing talent.
- Ferentz has had a revival... a poor man's Dantonio
- Fitzgerad has aso had a bit of a revival... it's hard to recruit there for several reasons but seems he develops his guys every 3-4 years.
- Harbaugh is an awful recruiter, good gameday, mediocre at developing talent.

Scott Frost? I could see him being better than Harbaugh too. We'll find out.

Harbaugh has to be somewhere on Lovie Smith's level... NFL dropout, can't recruit, struggling at a basketball school.

Can PJ Fleck challenge for position? I kinda doubt it; but I have to take coaching at places like Minnesota and Northwestern with a grain of salt... it's a lot harder to be successful there than a program that gets preseason Top25 rankings rubber stamped every season for no reason at all.

I'd bump Chryst up to excellent gameday and am baffled at Harbaugh being considered good gameday (not just because of my general disdain). Don Brown is a good gameday coach, fucktwinkle's offense and sideline meltdowns are pretty far from beneficial to the tsun cause.

Chryst has a formula he's inherited from 2 decades of Wiscy coaches... it's a good formula, but I just don't see him able to improvise much.
Harbaugh has given us gameday issues since showing up. In my imo, he gets his chess pieces to perform a little better than they are. Of course it's also his fault he can't recruit better athletes, nor scout and develop 3 star guys into pros like Dantonio/Chryst/Ferentz do. He's poison to QBs... O'Korn and Speight were never very good but that Amazon special made it pretty clear Harbaugh managed to make them even worse.

*And they can't blame Hoke anymore -- if they ever honestly could.

I thought Chryst's gameplan and adjustments in 2016 were exceptional, I don't think that has anything to do with the Wisky program machine that he keeps rolling.

Rainman's meltdown in '16 went a long way in costing scUm The Game. You can't be that emotionally unstable and be considered a good gameday coach imo.
