Northwestern gets worse

http://www.chicagotribune.com/sport...tern-jeremy-larkin-injury-20180924-story.html

Bad news out of Evanston: Northwestern tailback Jeremy Larkin is retiring from football, effective immediately, because of a neck injury.

Larkin recently was diagnosed with cervical stenosis, according to the school’s news release, and while the condition is not life-threatening, it will prevent him from playing football.

The redshirt sophomore from Cincinnati is averaging 4.8 yards per carry; No. 2 tailback John Moten IV is at 1.8.

I have just chalked up the B1G West to Wisconsin after they already hold the H2H tie break with Iowa but then I looked at their schedule:

They could absolutely lose 2, or more, of those 4 road games

B1G West might not be as done of a deal as it usually is. Iowa and Northwestern still have plenty to play for.

FWIW Iowa also drew PedAggy.
I don't think NW has the horses this year - already 1 loss in conference so they must get the tiebreaker with Wisconsin. Besides, I hope they just crumble after losing to Akron, Duke, and scUM. Try again next year Fitz.
Assuming we make it to Indy - I don't think we need a huge resume builder but Northwestern with those losses may as well be Youngstown State to the national media. A Top20ish Wisconsin or Iowa would get her done.

Resume builder wise we want Wisky, no question, but they aren't staying in the top 10 with that schedule and one already on the books from BYU.

Look at Iowa.

at PSU and at Purdue are no gimmies but if they can somehow do it they could sneak into the B1G CCG

I will say that if Ohio State wins out, it doesn’t matter if Pennsyltucky wins anything else or not.

Their winning can speed up clinching the B1G East and if you want to think about playoffs, the benefits of PSU winning out are obvious.

I have reached some strange new level of surreal in a season where I think I actually want ND and PSU to win out.

Woody forgive me
